CWB: Big 10 Inch

I had a really rough day, tomorrow is likely to be a repeat. I don't even have the energy right now to explain why.

I'll try to check in soon.

Jackie is in Chicago right now because of a family emergency on her side. I might end up in Chicago next week.

A couple of psychics offered to help with my nephew. Not something that I or my family are drawn to, but at this point I think that we'd try anything. Upon further review we've decided that their motivations seem to be self serving and about promoting themselves more than anything else.

Jeez, dude. I hope you guys get closure soon, and things work out for Jackie. My heart goes out to you, your missus, your family, and her family...

Oh geez...sorry....like you guys need more stuff going on.

I'm not sure how much I believe the psychic thing either, but even if their motives are self-promotion, they are at least thinking that they'll have something to promote. Of course, that could be the whole, "you're not supposed to find him yet" kind of deal...complete b.s. My grandma asked a psychic where she had hidden her wedding ring (old people stash valuable stuff in weird places and then forget where they put it...okay, okay...I totally do this too...good thing I have nosey kids that can tell me where I hid the hubz birthday present that I bought six months before :D) and got the "you'll find it when you're meant to find it" line of b.s. My grandfather had been dead for like 40 years at that point. She never did find it before she died. We found it tucked up in the basement ceiling when we were remodeling. Oh, and it was my ex-husband that found it, so no significance there either! :hmm:

Anyway, you have all my contact info. If there's anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to ask. :)

You... Have an ex-husband? What in the world!? If I was married to you, you'd be treated like a queen 24/7/365 (366 for a leap year :P), and never be miserable!!! As for you, Mike, PM me if you want/need my contact details. I live a bit far from you, but if you really need to, I'll somehow find a way to meet you halfway between Philly and Pittsburgh. I'm not currently working, so funds are tight.

I'd like to apologize for my erratic behavior lately, it was completely uncalled for. For those who are wondering what was said, basically a bunch of bull crap. I'm only capable of writing lyrics and music when sad or depressed. The music isn't sad, either. It can be anywhere between a classic rock power ballad about being madly in love with the girl of your dreams, to angry I'm-gonna-give-my-finger-to-the-world metal, or even the occasional country song about my piece of crap truck. lol anyway... I've tried writing happy and it could never come. So I decided to drink to bring my mood down a little bit. I drank myself past the point of depression by accident and we broke up because of something I'm too embarrassed to post anywhere or share with anyone but a very select few of my closest friends. We finally kissed and made up today, and I have a little bit of news... See below...

As for all of you NJ crew who are regular CWBers (as well as auto), we need to get together and hang out before the end of June. I'm possibly moving to Florida with Kristin... I'm really nervous about it but want to get out of New Jersey badly enough. In fact, I fainted earlier when she brought it up. My best friend had to pick me up off the floor literally, I smashed up one of my basses in the process. But I don't care... She asked my honest opinion on it. I said (copied from a text message):

"I want to be happy. I deserve to be happy. You make me happy. You deserve to be happy. And I know I make you happy on some level despite our differences. And if you really think we can be together for the long haul, then I'm all for it because I love you more than words can describe. If you were here right now I will show you how much I love you, with a single kiss, and even that wouldn't be enough..."

God, I'm so excited and happy I'm bursting at the seams...

Mike, sorry that there is more trial in your lives at a time when you don't need it. Really hoping things will start sorting themselves out for you and your family.

But don't give the Psychics another thought. Even though you may feel there is no where else to turn to this will not help. They'll make some vague, general statements so they can take credit if something good or bad happens.

+1 to all of this

When I signed up for Talkbass back in March I was just looking for info. I did not expect to find people who would start to become friends.

I may change my handle in the future to be less generic but in the meantime, please feel free to call me Marty. That's what my friends call me.

Oh that reminds me....I actually have my ACE wrist brace because sometimes my wrist hurts like a mother out of nowhere...that's kinda like a restraint. Also duct tape can be a gag AND/OR restraints. :smug:

How low are you wearing that bass? If you wear it too low, it puts your wrists in a very awkward position.

I just pulled a sneaky stunt on the bank, and they do not even know it yet...

When this house was built, there was never a deeded right of way to the back of the house. The front of the house is accessable, but to get to the garage and the shop, you have to go around the back of the house

The driveway is actually on property owned by a friend. Back when this house was built, a handshake was binding, and the property owners had an agreement. That is no longer binding with both of them dead.

My friend is going to tell the bank that as soon as I am gone, he is closing the road. The only place a new driveway could go would run right over the septic tank, and leach field, and a couple 50-60 foot fir trees would have to come out
My friend does not want new neighbors against his property. He likes that I watch out for him

This should help me drive the price down, and give me a little more leverage to make them deal with me, on my terms

Sweet! I like this.
A few new survey markers would make this more obvious to potential buyers unaware of that situation.

Ok, no pic, no covered wagon.

Funny how that works. I have made a whole bunch of friends here over the years. Most of the oldest have moved on, but I met Gard and Jive1 here years ago, among the earliest people I met here and am still friendly with them.

Last night was a late night at the office. Went straight home, walked the dog, went to bed - today is somewhat recovered.

Mike - Sorry to hear that Jackie's got some drama. Good to know FM's up there if needed. On the psychic front - there's a lot of scammers just trying to make a living on someone else's trauma. If someone like that thinks their information is worth following up, then they need to report it to the police as a lead and the the pros do the follow-up. I don't want to get into the believe/don't believe discussion since everyone has their own ideas and opinions, but if the person is legit, they won't complain about using the official channels. After all some law enforcement agencies do use some people with these alleged skills. Just don't pay any of them anything - then you know you aren't being taken advantage of.

In the interim - if there's anything I can do, even if it's just a friendly ear or shoulder, call me. You know how to find me.

Lee - I'm glad to see you have a friend who's got your back out there. I think that's sure to toss a wrench into the prospective saleability and no bank really wants to own the foreclosed property, they just want their money. But then - you already know that.

Lareamond - I yahoo'd and texted yesterday, but no response. You okay? I see the earlier post and it seems like the rolling boil is reduced to a slow simmer? It'll be late tonight, but I'll be on.

BassGen, Marty - sometimes it's good when you get more than you expected. Yes? And just look at all the INFO you've gotten that you never thought possible from a bass forum. ;) I'd give you my real name on here, but it's complicated and unique enough to be google-able and you'd just call me Tat anyway, so I'll hold off for now.

Thor - how's the world treating you today?

FM and PA - ladies! ladies! Where art thee? Ya'll were quiet last night!

In my little world - awesome things happening...

* Band is coming off hiatus and getting back to writing and rehearsing. It's looking like a total reformation and search for a new lead guitarist, but I think it's all good. I'm not going to be the steady bass player, but I've already been put on notice that I'll sit in sometimes at shows. My bass role is more writing and studio work. My show role vox and hand percussion - and booking. There are no shows without bookers - so wish me luck!

* MY SON GOT A JOB!!!!!! He starts tonight at 5. And he's figured out which program he's going to enroll in and finally getting his education where I think it needed to be five years ago. The process has begun for him to get into an HVAC training/apprentice program. Yay. Those guys are always going to be needed, no matter where in the country he decide to go.

* Tomorrow I'm spending the morning working with a new potential music partner doing some acoustic blues work. For now, it's just hanging out to jam, but he's started talking about writing some stuff and putting together a CD/acoustic duo thing and asked if I'd be up for it. I'm excited and terrified all at the same time.

* Lastly - this week's bass homework is write an original song. My rules - 4 chords max. 3 minutes max. Stop thinking. Have fun. Some days I wonder why I pay that man to torture me, but then I remember that I like it. THand - how do I make that quirky thing that makes up stories on the fly apply to this...and fast? Anyone else with ideas - please feel free to chime in - I'm on the edge with this little assignment.

I never expected to stick around either. CWB has been an unexpected delight. :D

And Talkbass in general is pretty awesome.

And Mr. Clement got started on my fretboard today. Yay!!! :hyper::hyper::hyper:

I would be willing to kill to stay in a house like that!! It's beautiful!!

Why fast?

Anybody can write a song...toddlers do it all day long, it's part of our nature.
Not everyone can write a good song...

A tip I read about years ago from Bono(who can write a good song) was to use the recording feature on your cell phone to record little bits and pieces of ideas when they occur to you.

You... Have an ex-husband? What in the world!? If I was married to you, you'd be treated like a queen 24/7/365 (366 for a leap year :P), and never be miserable!!!

lol...yeah, I have an ex-husband, and a jaded attitude towards marriage because of him. And just a little note to all: Even if it is an uncontested divorce with no assest to divide and no fights over anything, it's still 10 times as hard and 10 times as expensive (assuming you go the JOP route) to get divorced. Yeah. Think about that before you decide to go get that license. Just sayin' what I wish someone had said to me...although there were much bigger circumstances beyond my control...but anyway! That's an entirely different story! :smug:
So yeah...once you have something for a long time, sometimes it's taken for granted. Sometimes, one thinks that they might even find something better...and then they go look for that something better...and then when they realize that there is nothing better they try to come back, except you're already moved on and finally don't want them back. And they still contact you on various social networking sites because they never did find that 'better' one, so they're still single and sad :bawl: and you're not.:smug: Haha! :D

Congrats on working things out with the lady. I think you can use my email addy to message me on Yahoo. I keep getting spam messages, so give it a shot. :p

lol...I just lurked on TB, like didn't even have an account (why should I because I have nothing to actually contribute...lol), but every time I Googled something the first six answers were from TB. Then I saw the Deej's thread (I think I had created an account just a little before the first CWB, but only posted on one other OT thread) and seemed like I could actually talk to people here. And well, you've all been around for the rest. :smug:
