Damnation Audio Fan/Appreciation Thread

If I had tried this pedal back when I first heard of it I could have saved myself a lot of time and money! As soon as I added it to my board I knew I could let go a few other pedals. There's so many tones I want a second!

On top of it all I discover they're from my birth state! And while I haven't been living in Maryland since 2007 i come home often and I'll always hold Baltimore dear to my heart. Many many many concerts in Bmore as a teen weekly raves at club Sonar, Mickey and Amelia on 98 rock, and M&T Bank for Ravens game back in the good ol days with Ed, Ray and friends going ape doo doo on opponents.

I knew I'd be a repeat customer but now I'll definitely be a hometown fan!
 
I think the trick is not to lower the cut off point but to adjust the shape of the filter. I have found a way to add a bigger gut punch to the lows. Stay tuned on that regard!

About the loop: How about a fixed low pass on the loop around 5-7kHz as a permanent fizz killer?

Perhaps gain of the clean channel could be an internal adjustment?

Internal trim for clean gain would totally work. Not something I’d want or need to adjust often once dialed in.

Is it possible to make the fixed Fizz killer LPF switchable without too much trouble?

Switchable low pass internally would be nice. I'm in the camp that likes a fizzy distortion sound
 
I have one in my kma guardian of the wurm and it really makes the pedal complete. Especially since it can be used even without drive engaged. It's something that I hope to see become standard on filth pedals
My biggest reason is obviously because drive pedals create the most noise and if a noise gate was already built into the bloop I wouldn’t have to run a noise gate immediately after the bloop to tame the noise, so for me it eliminates a pedal from my board which is always a plus.

That pedal looks cool. Gates aren't standard cause good ones are expensive. Cheap gates on a pedal would suck the life out of the tone. But It's something to add to the war chest. Thanks!
 
MXR uses a decent and I'm guessing affordable one in thier M80 di+. Might be worth a look?

That gate is a pretty decent one for the distortion side of the circuit. It does not effect the clean side of the pedal so it doesn't need to be a top shelf gate. I would imagine if you are looking for a gate you wouldn't want a set up where the looped pedal is gated but the clean blend keeps going, right. To put a gate on the whole pedal would gate both channels which in my mind is what you would want, right?

It's still a cool idea and if I ever do a "pro" or "deluxe" version it should be achievable. Thanks!

Also to clarify with gates I'm thinking about specialized IC's tailor made for the job and not a homebrew option. That's what makes it expensive in my mind.

The THAT 4315 is under $5 in surface mount IIRC but the rest of the BOM to build out a functional gate would be as much as a typical dirt pedal circuit. It would end up being a big pedal or an annoying stacked board build.
