I may or may not have three MBD-2s in my possession right now. Definitely sound good stacked - my preference is the first one with shift switch down, set to higher gain/moderate distortion. Then the second set to OD with shift switch up and a bit of depth in there. They can be used independently or stacked for some real clanky stuff…

Quick question for all MBD-1 users— what’s your favorite place to put yours on your board?
I’ve owned 3 over the years & have read this thread in its entirety at least once, just looking for some quick ideas.

I put mine where ever it fits on my board, currently number one after the tuner. However, I tend to run my dirty pedals solo.

question: I actually did put my MBD-1 back on my doomtronica board, where it replaced a VT that was in the Bloop chain. So now, the MBD-1 is in the Bloop chain and it sounds darn good. Anyone else bloop their MBD-1 (which already has a clean blend)?

I have a MDB-1 or 2 on both my big and little boards. They are my always on overdrive tone. On the big board it’s in the middle between a lunar reclipse and a blower box. The reclipse is mostly used as a boost pedal. The other board is before a kma chief disrupter. so for me it’s overdrive (mdb) then distortion/fuzz. But after boosts like a Han-Taun or lunar reclipse.

I love this video because I keep trying to push how this thick the curmudgeon is but your video reminds me how grindy it can be. Perhaps I need to find the right audience. Maybe I should find a power violence band to endorse it!

One of the best tones I had recently was doing some song demos with a Curmudgeon into a GK800RB sim.

So a GK head might be a hot pairing for the CMGN.

Haven’t tried it. But I used a 1001 for years. Not an 800, I know, but the 1001 took dirt like a champ. Loved that amp.

it sounds great with the gk! i think having an amp thats not gonna cave in or struggle really helps aswell!

In my experience GK amps are amazing with anything you throw at them.

I use it in a noisy d-beat band so it has indeed a lot more range than solely sludge/doom type tones.

We used the Curmudgeon as an always on our new record. Shameful promotion I know, but it fits great in the mix and on it's own.

The opening of the second song has some isolated bass.
