Hah. I hear you there. I still love it, and I need a dingwall 6, but an NH 6 would be perfectly fine, and having another Z in the stable is wanted haha. But yeah, getting rid of a Dingwall feels like getting rid of a child
Back from Mo's Shop. Having a straplock on the back is a must-have for me.
It does make a nice balance point with that rear strap point.

The case is big and heavy (11+lbs empty)
Size-wise, it's on par with a Cello Hardcase.

Yes, that is a fantastic case. I have a couple of the same, but the single bass version. They offer excellent protection, have great storage, and even a built-in rain cover.
I like your pickgaurd. Fits your BASS very well. I've got a couple being made for my Black Beast NG3.

Taking a break from programming. It's nice starting from scratch sonically. When I got the Z3 (and NG3) they were put into an already established amp/effects environment. Now I'm finding more usable tones just from the bass that I didn't know were there.

The first thing for me to understand Lee is that it's a paradigm shift in the equipment I use. I am in the very early stages here and am by no means settled in my tones. But, this removes the whole amps/cabinets/effects/mics/DI's we've been caught up in. I am eschewing bass amps for a QSC K12.2, and maybe a sub to add to it if necessary. This then allows me to hear myself as the FOH does. I'm pretty old school so this is a BIG step for me. It will probably lead to IEMs at some point I'd imagine.
There is so much packed into this unit it's quite amazing. And it's not fixed, regular firmware updates bring new capabilities. It's true that there's more for guitar than for bass, but that's OK. I spent an hour downloading bass patches from Line 6 Customtone and overwriting guitar patches. Sounds that claim to sound like Dug, or Geddy, or Squire, or even Nolly; and if it's not quite to your liking, then just tweak it until it is. Or download something else and just write over it. Then there's the approach of calling up a patch and just blanking it out and start from scratch. Also, don't limit yourself to bass centric "blocks" as their called. There're lots of guitar amps, cabs, and effects that sound great with a bass.
This is gonna take awhile, I'm still chipping away at the learning curve, and the HX Edit for my laptop is a God send. I have a friend here in town and he's one of the top guitarists and he just got the Helix LT so we keep in touch as we go through the growing pains.
Conceivably my stage rig would be my bass, the Helix Floor, and a K12.2. We'll just see how this all comes together. (sorry for the long reply).

Well gentlemen, I messed up on my quote for that "Sunrise" AB1 from Bass Direct. In the Transferwise tool it defaulted to Euros and I didn't set it to British Pound. After doing that, the price with duty came out to $4,355 USD.

I’ve been working with a line 6 Pod 500x for a few months. Man, can it suck up some hours. So many things to explore.
At the other end of my work station I have a few stomps, (pitchfork, Ovnilab smoothie, and the awesome Darkglass Alpha Omega Ultra) and the Zoom B3.
I bounce back and forth. I’m on the fence with the Line 6 boogaloo. Super cool, but a bit of overkill. It needs hours I just don’t have at the moment.
I think the individual pedal vs multi fx unit debate really hinges on personality of the user. I’m a KISS guy, so the line 6 may be a detour for me. I might end up throwing it back in the TB used effects pool.
The Zoom B3 kind of hits a middle ground. Sure it’s a multi, but fairly streamlined. It can act like three stomps, or, with the looper, beats and a few other features, it’s a self contained practice station.
I picked up a used Beat Buddy last week, because I really wanted something to work with the Line 6. ( the pod lacks any kind of beats) The Zoom has rudimentary beats, but nothing to write home about. I sold my Roland DR 660, it just was a pain to work with.
The Beat Buddy sounds frickin awesome! And having it as a stomp is really cool. I’ll be trying to unpack the Beat buddy manager this weekend. Add on drum kits are reasonably priced, and there’s plenty of content to add, plus shared user data. Mine is a first run unit, so I’m hoping to update the firmware and get the sobriety function. That’s right, the Beat Buddy can be stone cold sober, buzzed, or third set trashed, as you need. It still won’t ask to borrow money or hit on the other band wives, or need a ride. (like a real drummer)

I really love my beat buddy. I don't understand how every bass player in the world doesn't have one! Unless they happen to live with a drummer.
I just wanted to say that depending on what effects you are using, sometimes you need to have the alpha omega Ultra ahead of your other effects instead of after them. (For example, modulation effects generally should come after the distortion.) So make sure you experiment with both positions with it. Having a looper is very handy for that. I am loving the boss ES-8 for exactly that reason. Different patches can completely reorder the pedals, with no wiring changes required. How awesome is that.
