Nice! I bought it off Larry (NJ). I'm letting it acclimate to room temps before I get too crazy with it. Intitial impression - I think I'm going to like it. 1st multi-scale bass for me.

Try a short length of heat shrink tubing on that open A rattle. Slide it on the string and settle it in the nut. You don’t use heat or shrink the tube. This worked for me when I had an open G string rattling in the nut slot cut for a D string.
Once everything was tuned and settled in, I’d trim off the top of the tubing.
That and maybe more down ward pressure and wraps on the tuner post.
That TI B string is a whopper!

I might give heat shrink a try, I may also just order a set of different flats.
The string has 3.5 wraps and is as far down the post as it'll go so not much I can do there. A string tree would probably solve the mega-buzz but I'm not sold on adding one, as you know it's never had one.

I recently stumbled across this for sale and am delighted it just arrived, although I’m out of the office for a few days so a colleague picked it up and kindly got it reassembled and set up for me.
I just took possession of this bubinga-wenge infused Canadian beauty. It was hiding on ebay. It was very poorly photographed, dusty, and the seller didn't know what kind of woods it was made of. I formerly had (and stupidly sold) a 6 string bubinga-wenge AB II. I wasn't about to let this one get away. She is in mint condition, and obviously not used much.
That ABII looks like it just came out of the factory, any idea what year it is?

Looks like walnut to me. Bassed
on the serial number, 2006 or earlier. I just sold one in the mid 3800s which was from Dec 2006 and I still own one in the 3900s from 2007. I can vouch for their goodness (Bubinga/Wenge).

Looks to be a 2005 - at least that's what the back of the pickup says ...And the body is walnut. The tone is sublime. I love these older bubinga-wenge ABs. And I don't mind the extra weight at all. I prefer dense woods.

The_Owl approves of this purchase. Bubinga and Wenge together is pure magic, tone wise.

Hello, Dingwall Owners!
I'm seriously considering purchasing my first 5 string Dingwall and I've been looking at the Combustion and NG2 models. I'm doing Top 40/RB/variety band gigs and after reading the reviews and looking at the you tube videos, I'm thinking that the Combustion is more suited to my situation but I have to admit, that Ferrari Yellow NG2 keeps calling out to me. So my question is, is there anyone here that is using the NG2 for non-metal "regular bar band/festival gigs" like me?
Andy Irvine and one other guy have NG2 videos on youtube where they get a variety of tones out of them but I'm wondering if I can get some comments about NG2's performing in these types of gigs in the wild.
