Fury guitars were also made in Saskatoon. FD3 pickups = Fury Dingwall. Why do Fury basses remind you of Sheldon?
Just got my beautiful ABII back from Master Mod Man Maurillo. Aguilar replaced by a Nordstrand 3band, Nordstrand NJ5s pickups (hum canceling Jazz), Fender Jazz-sized frets, back straplok. My new multiscale Jazz bass. Switches are active-passive and mid center switch.

The most recent episode of Scott’s Bass Lessons Podcast had Sheldon Dingwall as his guest. He discussed his connection to Fury in the interview.Fury guitars were also made in Saskatoon. FD3 pickups = Fury Dingwall.
DIngwall Guitars Setup Series - YouTubeQuestion for those more knowledgeable about setups than me: the action on my AB is too high.
I have tried to do my own setup and discovered the truss rod is maxed out (it won't turn any more clockwise) and the saddles are already as low as they go. What's my next move?
Thanks, but I have already watched these months ago and they do not answer my question. They are great and informative and by using them I was able to get my Combustion set up perfectly. But they don't address the truss rod and action issues that the AB has.
I have a bass possibly having a similar problem to yours. The recommendation to me was to add a shim. (I have not followed through with the suggestion yet, as the bass had a few other problems requiring attention.) It made sense to me. If you can’t lower the bridge anymore, the neck itself would need to raise.Question for those more knowledgeable about setups than me: the action on my AB is too high.

I was afraid of that. Oh, well - I guess it's off to my favorite tech.I have a bass possibly having a similar problem to yours. The recommendation to me was to add a shim. I'm at work now, so it will be a while. I'm using Dingwall nickel strings.Hey @Charlzm Can you show us any photos of the neck relief and the bridge set?
What strings are you using?
That’s probably best anyway to consult a trusted tech. It might not be as bad as you imagine.I was afraid of that. Oh, well - I guess it's off to my favorite tech.
Using the YouTube videos as a guide, I did get the neck flatter (there was still about a quarter turn of adjustment left in the truss rod), the action lower and the intonation pretty damned close. However, I have been living with the bass as-is for a month or two and the strings are still just too high. That’s probably best anyway to consult a trusted tech. Man, I want that...Dingwall related, and I always think of @Sheldon D. when any Fury basses come up:

This was a nice surprise when it was handed to me last night. Super cool little bass. Light as all get out, nice neck and low action, although the fret dots and side dots (which don't match up with them) were a mind bender for me. Had a I a few extra K lying around and I wanted a 4...
That looks sweet! How do the frets feel compared to the banjo frets?Just got my beautiful ABII back from Master Mod Man Maurillo.
