Dingwall Owners Club

Sheldon Dingwall has been pretty vocal that if there is a dealer in someone's area that he won't sell direct to the consumer. He wants to support his dealer network instead of undercutting them.
It's pretty honorable as a manufacturer if you ask me

Sheldon is an honorable man. I won't go into detail, but my second custom order derailed into h,e, double toothpicks. I call him a prince among men for the way he resolved the situation. Back when I was ordering custom Dingwalls, if there was a dealer within 100 miles of you, that was your sales point.

100% agree with this.
Looking at all the variation and options across the different platforms over the years it’s easy to see how interactive and involved Sheldon and the shop are with their customers. I honestly don’t think this happens unless you’re a really good person surrounded by really good people.

Almost delivery day, the last wait is the worst.

I had not been to the Dingwall website in quite a while, but I checked in the other day.

I love the new spec page. Being able to load up three models side by side to compare is sweet. Way better than the old page.

I wanted to compare the neck dimensions on the NG and combustion’s with the Canadian models. The interactive chart made it easy.

I placed an order for a Combustion 5 3x on 2/8/2019. I was quoted 12 months, but they expect sooner. I think the larger shop will hopefully speed things up from here on out.

Pretty excited either way. I had an ABI which I sold to fund a custom Z3 made to my specs in 2013.... but sadly sold when I had my son. I've been Dingwall-less for 6 years now, and am excited to have another Dingwall in my collection. The Z3 was amazing, but I couldn't justify having a 7k+ bass laying around the house that was hardly getting played at the time.

Anyone know of a company that makes CLEAR Combustion pickguards? I've emailed QuickGuards twice now, and haven't heard back from them. I'd prefer to run a clear pickguard to show off the flamed-maple top... I think trying to fill in the screw holes would look to out of place.

These guys can make you a clear plexiglass PG. You can send them your original one and they will duplicate it. This is who Sheldon recommends:

Folks, I already posted this some weeks ago, but I didn't get any traction. I also asked in a separate thread, which went unanswered. Not that I can't take a hint, but maybe it was overlooked. So third (and last) try:

I wonder if any 5-string Afterburner 1 owner has a bass with a pickup and could help me out. The bass I'm taking about would be something like this (just 5-string, and with 3 pickups):

My custom is arriving in a few weeks, without the pickguard I wanted (I think they couldn't make a normal one, on account of the neck touching the neck pickup, and all the pickups being too close to each other). I'd need two half pickups.

Any owner that could perhaps trace the pickguard for me, so that I can have a custom ordered for me? That'd be GREATLY appreciated.

Ayumu's afterburner has a "normal" pickguard fyi
