Dingwall Owners Club

It's NDDx2!!

View attachment 3397886

I actually got the NG-3 on Tuesday, but I figured I'd wait until they were both in da' house to show 'em. My next NDD will be WAY more exciting, but this makes me happy!!:hyper::bassist::hyper::bassist:
Congradulations!

Raise them necks on the stands a few notches, if they are plugged in the jack is going to be pushed on.

Thanks! I'm having some feel issues with the D-Bird, though. Apparently, I'm too fat for this bass, LOL! Unless I wear it insanely high, it wants to tilt away from me. I'll get used to it, and it's inspiring me to get my happy @$$ to the gym and to stop drinking soda, but this is weird. It sounds amazing though.

The NG is fan-frickin'-tastic!

No need to raise the stands, I never, ever, leave my basses plugged in. They're only plugged in if I'm playing them, plus, if something happens and it slips out of the stand, I know it's not going very far...;)

I had the same thing happen, it tilts forward a bit unless you're pretty lean :).
I reoriented my strap buttons so they go the opposite way to normal, i.e. so they lay flat against the back of the body (you may have done this already, and I may be explaining it poorly) and then just slung it a little low and it's all good.
I didn't buy a D-bird for technical stuff so don't mind it being low slung.

My 6 string Jazzwall is back from Mo's Shop. Mo installed Nordstrand Jazz pickups in OEM covers, and replaced the banjo fret with bass frets. I was thinking about having him install a Nordstrand 3b preamp, but decided to keep this bass passive. As always, his work is exemplary.

See? I totally didn't delay your project.

...did Mo say bad things about me when you picked it up?

In the meantime I be playing this one.

Also, while we haven't announced yet...this week's band action is that we're in the last stages of signing a booking deal with a good national booking agency. I saw one contract yesterday but they're editing a couple details and I should have a new one in my hands later today or tomorrow.

Right on man! Nice to see some successes happening!

Found out the lawyers are going to take a few days to redraft the contracts. We balked at a few of the terms and they’re adjusting.

Gonna mean that we go from wide regional to slowly national. I need to talk to Sheldon and crew to see if I can apply for an artist endorsement.

Congrats if that comes to fruition. Awesome.
Your band is very good and you guys deserve it.

Thanks! Randomly but in a things have a reason for happening, we did a bit of a member role reallocation and along with this situation, everyone is playing better and feeling better about our future, etc. Not that we were feeling bad, but this have given us some new juice.

We're currently booking into Sept/Oct so this will be a slow transition but it should be good. They actually want us to play less. Fewer shows but higher value/profile. So instead of killin' 100 shows a year, maybe 50 but really good ones and/or tour runs. The plan is to continue to build smartly and not burn out.

I'd be happy to start with just the normal deal though I wouldn't turn down an Artist model. ;) Last I looked on the old page there was a general notice about being nationally touring, etc. The new system has a questionnaire, so once the ink is dry... ;) These days most of my public use is NG and Combustion though a good reasonable priced AB or something like that would be a cool thing.

People don't realize the long game...and that part of the recipe for success is just perseverance. We watch bands we know make bad management mistakes all day long. We also watch those bands burn out or lose their base along the way. Aiming not to do any of those things.
