I'm not sure the combustion pickguards will fit, Dingwall kind of indicated that to me.
They didn't want people to pass off a Combustion as an NG3
Here's why they won't work on the NG-2: (Maybe mine is an older model...?)

Have you contacted axetreme creations? They made an NG-2 pickguard for me back in 2017. It's been a while, but they may still have templates for the 5 string Combustion pickguard you're looking for. EmailHere's why they won't work on the NG-2: (Maybe mine is an older model...?)
Oh, hopefully it's nipped in the bud.I think he had pancreatic cancer removed and is doing much better. Caught it early he mentioned in a post. I hope he’s doing great and that it’s only a moment in his life.
There’s been a lot of sadness and reality in my life this year and it hits very hard sometimes. I hope nothing but good things for Sheldon and all of you.

Yeah, lots of drama in my life too, 3 people in my church have cancer, and pastor had a polyp on his vocal chord, amazingly, be it divine intervention, two are now cancer free, and pastor's polyp was gone when they went in for surgery. One woman, April, still has breast cancer, but outlook is good so far.
My uncle passed beginning of the year.
My ma's replacement hip is failing (she is only in her 50's) having a hard time walking. so there is that.
But we can't focus on the bad, have faith, be kind and carry on and life will sort itself out.
Bass playing has been a great stress relief for me, and this forum helps calm my nerves, no heated arguments, no politics only people sharing their love for the art.
Preach it, brother. Our holy creator will never abandon his children.![]()
So true, not to be too preachy, but God takes every opportunity to shape us into what he wants us to be, those with no worldly problems are not mouldible.Preach it, brother. Our holy creator will never abandon his children.![]()

Aaaaaaand the place that Dingwall recommended doesn't seem to understand what I want. Liking the blue painter's tape more and more.....
Does anyone know if Sheldon D is doing ok? last I heard he was sick.
Yep. When I needed to get a fabrication of a pickguard for an EMG-sized pickup Combustion that I was putting in the 'x2' layout (reverse of what you're doing) the shop referred me to Chandler/Pickguard Heaven. After a few emails it was apparent they would not do it for me...they want a tracing and won't alter the perimeter shape of that. I ended up using Terrapin Pickguards.
Dude. If you want a scan or tracing of my original Combustion pickguard with the EMG sized pickups, let me know and I'll do it. It's not even in use right now, so it would be easy for me to do.
If it's for a 5 string, I accept! Most gracious of you.
Yup, finally had the SP sent out here now that I’ve settled in. I’m staying in LA for the foreseeable future.Excellent. I assume that explains the sale of your Combustion...
Which coast are you sitting on?

Lol! I have recently 'given up' on 5 string basses. Traded one 5 string Combustion for a 4 string D-Bird and one 5 string NG-2 for a 4 string Afterburner. Just decided I am not the kind of player or writer who takes advantage of the 5th string. I'll have one bass in BEAD and one in AEAD. Someday I will probably have a 5er again, but I'm feeling a lot more comfortable on 4s right now. There are basses with other numbers of strings?
