Hi Sheldon, Thank you for your response! My main interest in them would be the ability to use an exposed core string set, which the bridge on my Supers will not allow.
If I did decide to try them, what would be your recommendation for maintaining the 19mm spacing at the bridge?
The best solution would be to have someone make you a thin base plate with the same footprint as the original bridge with holes for the saddles to be screwed to. This will hide the compression marks in the paint left by the old bridge. A lot of machinists play guitar and would likely enjoy the challenge of making this plate. They will need to consider the grounding. I suspect it would be a 5-6 hour job.
