Probably the same answer you would get from everybody else who is lucky enough to have one: "Like" is a gross understatement. It is just total perfection in every single category of measurement - tonal, ergonomic, mechanical, and cosmetic.
The sixer is actually also a Prima. @Sheldon D. can chime in and correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that it might be the very first Prima he built. It was a total custom job, about 20 or 21 years ago. It was originally going to have the voodoo shape, but the buyer suggested rounding it off a bit and this is what Sheldon came up with. I can't even imagine the amount of hours it took to also figure out putting in the midi pickups and piezo and allowing all of it to be used simultaneously and mixed right from the instrument.

When you have some time, it would be awesome if you posted a clip of that sixer, running through the various sets of transducers and combinations. You know, during your copious free time. :laugh:

I did. When I discovered the 3 band though it was game over. I love the mid control. I used both the 2 band and 3 band in a death metal type setting and had crushing tone. The thing with the glock sound is it is so dang musical and pretty with such a great flexibility to dial in anything you need. I have really been appreciating the dark glass a lot lately especially as I work with it in a more tame setting(jazz/Latin). It’s a very different creature to work with.

I’d work with the glockenklang before rushing to swap it out. With that you could even get a stackable 3 band to fit in the 2 band holes so no drilling would be required as an upgrade option.
What kind of music are you gonna use it for?

The first Prima Artist was built for the then bass player with One Bad Son. It would have been around this time but I think the build was later than this bass. I do remember machining the tiny slots into the saddles with a fairly crude CNC router and spending hours on the wiring. I'm pretty sure we lost money on this one. Glad to see it's still making music.

Thank you for your reply! I have a stacked pot on the way just for this purpose, but my plan was to try the Glock for a while first. My current band is a modern day take on Stevie Wonder, mostly original modern funk/Bruno Mars horn band type stuff. Really really fun music. Typically I have two loops, one with my clear tone and another with a distorted high end, so often a more aggressive-ish tone really fits the mix quite well. Lot's of faux-moog sounds with the distortion and an octave down as well.

Neat stuff!

the glockenklang basically takes the inherent qualities of the bass and added sparkly magical goodness to its organic sounds where as the Darkglass add the dark glass flavor.
To be clear what I was referring to with the stacking pot was that glockenklang sells a 3 band (stacked bass/ treble IIRC) that fits in a 2 band layout if you found you were looking for mid control from the glock.
The only thing with the stackable 3 band vs the 3 pot 3 band is you lose the passive tone control from the treble pot

hope that makes sense.

If you decide to remove the Glock 2-band, let me know...I'll take it off your hands. I have an OBP-2 in my Voodoo Prima but would love to try the Glock.
