So do most people just go with Dingwall strings, or are there other go-to sets with a 37” scale B-E?

All Sandberg basses come with zero fret and it is always thicker/higher than the other frets and always has little filed groves in it to settle the strings making it more like a metal nut.
I just checked the Strandberg website and it seems like the Boden basses also have a Zero Fret

I’ve been using a Payson set lately and really like them. I’ve also used D’Addario super long scale strings which were also good but I kinda prefer the Payson’s.

I use StringJoy mostly - they don't have a multiscale set, so just get their extra longs. Their customer service is other-worldly... which has turned me into a super-loyal customer. But they only do round-wounds, so I guess I'll be trying Payson myself pretty soon :)

The best part about this place is the friends I’ve met. Some in person from the different parts of the continent.

Yeah I don't know, it felt like that joke would be funny when writing it ...
After clicking on post reply I kinda hoped nobody would read it.

Like most other music instruments (unless you're my wife, who can pick anything up and play it well... so envious of her ability to do that!), I simply got a teacher and have been having weekly lessons. A decent chunk of my "homework" ends up coming from this book if it isn't his own homework:

Building up all the independence has been the most difficult part so far, but, I'm certainly appreciating the instrument a TON more than I have, and, in the end, I feel like it'll allow me to be a better bassist, as well.

Thanks for the link.

Taking up guitar and drums definitely made me a better bassist.
And maybe a more directive bandmate too, for better or for worse :)

Yup, Dingwall and Payson are what I use.
Payson sets are worth a look

I'll also recommend Payson stainless steel strings... Finally put a set on my Combustion and I really like them and plan to try them on my NG3 4 string.

thank you all for the suggestions, I’ll give them a look.
