Dingwall Owners Club

Awesome! I didn’t know D-Rocs were available as 2-pickup instruments, tho

This is the very first one with the Z2 pickup layout.
I believe John Fox has another on order as we were both pretty surprised they agreed to do it.

Looking forward to getting my D-Roc Standard 5er whenever they are available but a bit nervous about their stock neodymium pickups as I’m all Alnico-5 kinda guy. Did anyone have experience with both FDV and FDN(or what’s the correct name for them?) with the same bass?

I had an import D-Bird a couple years ago and have just had a D-Roc delivered with the FDV pickups.
First impressions are that the FDVs are not as in your face sounding as whatever was in the D-Bird, much more of a vintage passive sound. The standard pickups in the import D-Roc’s are great sounding and very versatile.

I need to play around with the setup a bit more as the import basses tend to ship with the pickups cranked up to the max so they sound super hot.

Rufus Mann did a great video comparison. Not the same bass, but it definitely helps as a reference

I'm going to admit something:

I've been ignoring my Dingwalls for the last couple of months. I'm gigging them tomorrow night.

I haven't been ignoring Dingwalls totally, I went and saw my brotha', @KentClarkOnBass, absolutely NAIL some awesome jazzy big band stuff a few weeks ago on his ABI! It was AWESOME!

Stay safe. Stay healthy.

I did gig my Dingwalls the other night.

The love affair is just as hot now after a few weeks off. ;):D

They sounded amazing, AND, they sounded that way using the least expensive pedalboard I could throw together with what I have laying around! I left the Helix and the Fractal FM3/FC-6 at home, and went low rent. Sounded glorious...

I can see a Z3-5 in my future, but I won't be giving up my ABZs anytime soon, even though they'll be outnumbered.;):hyper:

Tooooo much roooooom on this boarrrrrddddd.

Yeah, it used to have a bunch more stuff on it. Then I got serious about what I actually had to have to get my job done.

This was the result.

There's still stuff on here I really don't "need", I just left it on there to fill up space. If I decide to take some other stuff off, then I'll consider getting a smaller, more compact board. Until then, the extra space gives me room for random stuff like a setlist or a clock if I get one.

awesome!! Makes for an even better weekend! Congrats Hombre! Looking forward to some feed back.

just a word on CP. if there is any monies owing they cannot deliver the package to you, even if you are standing there right beside them now…..

“The drivers do not have the safety protocol in place to accept money since COVID like they do at the service counters”

meaning, as they are perfectly capable humans to actually complete that task, their company protocol now officially will not let them so regardless expect to have to go pick up up and pay customs in person.
That said, if no moneyed are due and you get the same result, they are just crappy humans doing a crappy job… at their job.

I am quite sure that the post lady (who uses her rav4), never puts a package larger than what will fit in the small parcel boxes at the end of the road. They just wont fit. They all just get an “attempted delivery” slip in the community box at the end of the road.

She isnt dumb, she is lazy. Then she gets to write off her rav4 for work purposes.
