By the way, pull the pickguard and you'll see that Sheldon routes the neck pup for both single-coil or split-coil P style. All you need is a new guard and some soldering skillz.

Yes, I have already spoken to Barry about this possibility. But, after playing on it a while (no new pics, sorry), I am in NO hurry to swap the pickups in this bad boy. It is so versatile, and that's without even touching the EQ!

This bass is definitely delivering what I had hoped to get out of it, and then some! :)

You know the drill...no pics no bass! Congrats on the new SJ. :hyper:

I've been a bit busy of late (pushing hard to get issue #1 of BGM out the door), but I found a spare moment to snap some photos of my SJ4 last night. This bass continues to blow me away! It's definitely in my top 10, of all the basses I have played.

Here's a shot highlighting the magnetic battery cover (I still love that design!). Coincidentally, this shot is also probably the most true representation of that 'Burgundy Mist' color.

Now, I gotta get me an SJ5!!! :hyper: :D

Hey Tom, what strings are on your Super J? The silk end looks like Sadowsky flats, but the E looks tapered at the bridge.

To be honest, I am not sure. These are what came on the bass, stock (I acquired it, new, from Bass and Beyond). Whatever they are, I like them!

I'll ask Barry and Sheldon what they ship 'em with. And then I'll ask if I can buy a case. ;) :D

Tom.

Nice shots there Tom. I'm glad you're enjoying the bass.

We call that color "New Burgundy Mist". We think of it as a "Manlier" version of Burgundy Mist. 'Cause we're such Manly types up here;)

That is an understatement! :D

Ah, that makes sense. Those are nice strings!

Forgive my faux pas. And as for that 'manly types' comment, I can vouch for the fact that you are no skinny, slide-rule wearing dweeb. Of course, neither of us could match Lee in the manly facial hair department! ;) :p

As many of you have guessed, this chambered Prima Artist 6 has ended up in my greedy hands.:hyper::bassist::hyper::bassist::hyper::bassist::D:D:D

I need to compare it with my other two 6 str Dingwalls, before I reach an informed opinion ;). The other two are: The FIRST EVER Prima Artist (which happens to be a 6 as well), and a Prima 6 (the one that is featured on the Dingwall website where the Prima features are presented)
