Thanks for the heads-up, I'll be picking your brain at a later date about wiring (I personally hate stacked knobs and this is going in a non-Dingwall project).
I do love a green bass, too, and it’s just perfect. Now I have to go post it in the green bass thread.Woah! I love green and that's green as hell!
I got a nice email from Pat Wilkins today. My D-Bird is done and ready to come home to me.

I LOVE how it looks, it’s perfectly what I wanted, and I can’t wait to get it in hand.

When I started the contact with him, I asked for Ferrari Green or maybe something similarly bright, but a bit more saturated. Now, as he said, there are a few different colors you can find when searching “Ferrari Green,” so he sent me a couple of pics and asked which was more along the lines of what I was thinking. I went with this one:Grabber Green?

Sheldon himself came in here many pages ago to chime in this - IIRC because the playing area is raised compared to the rest of the body, they did not see a need to put on a hard, protective pickguard and instead went for mostly aesthetics with the vinyl stickers on the Standard and the wenge on the Custom

I’m not the original owner, and it’s not a custom shop D-Bird. I bought it as a used D-Bird Standard, in Vintageburst. Now, I don’t hate a sunburst finish, but they’re not something I’d choose over other options, but I wanted a D-Bird, and shortly before Christmas this year, that one came up on Reverb for $1700, shipped. I’d intended to play it as is for a while, then make up my mind about a possible refinish later, but then a threaded insert came loose while I was adjusting pickup height, and so it needed minor repair anyway. I got a recommendation from JFB, and went for the refinish while it was being repaired. The ultimate greenscreen bass
Now you can reap the meme money off youtube!
So you had it refinished, am I correct? Why not just buy it green from the get go?

I wish the Droc head stocks had those side accents
Me too. And man, does it ever pop in that bright green on mine.I wish the Droc head stocks had those side accents
What would you prefer? They just went cheap. Sticker on 2k bass is just silly.
It’s a refin on a production bass. No custom colour ordering on these. The ultimate greenscreen bass
