Dingwall Owners Club

Is there any kind of a low noise popping sound? Does it clip out or fade?

are you certain that the bridge pick up is off? Can you two them and confirm this?

are the pick up heights respectable to each other?

weird one
No noise at all. I am certain it is not working. Screwdriver tapping on each pickup. Both pickup heights are the same, but I am not using string sound to test them working.
Do you think the BT preamp could be bad? I didn’t put a meter to it yet

Has anyone else noticed that their Dingwalls have been multiplying?

My 6 string NG-3 seems to have sprouted a 4 string D-Roc in a ying yang (ding yang) type formation.

This can get dangerous when left unattended

I resemble both of these statements :roflmao::roflmao:..

I just realized i hadnt posted these to the group here yet. I had some design fun with Mark at Neck Illusions a few weeks back and we came up with these. Mean Green is my Reggae bass and El Dorado is my current metal/hard rock ride. I'm a *proud* Leo, the 12th fret Lion was added by Mark without my knowledge - you dont know how happy I was to see that!! The gold swirl is amazing on the Matte Gold btw. Perfect match. Im such a sucker for this stuff, lol..

View attachment 4879953 Just saw this beauty of the website, I’m not strong enough to resist. I may to get in line for one, but I’m hoping this one will show up used somewhere. My ABII is passive which suits me fine, but if I was going to try a
Preamp on a Dingwall do people prefer the Darkglass or the Glock?

Ummm…dude…

I bought a D-Roc in January of 2021, within a month I’d reserved an NG3 from John Fox and got that in early June, put down a deposit on a Z3 in August, bought a used D-Bird in December, promptly sent it out for a refinish (and UPS lost it on the return voyage for two months), and have since bought another D-Bird, which will arrive on Saturday, if FedEx moves to schedule.

Oh, and I’m waiting on Fretnation to receive an F#0 NG3 I also put a deposit on at some point.

So, to answer your question, yes.

I’ll take another family portrait after the Z3 gets here, I’d guess in mid-December.

That's a nice looking family of long necks, right there!
I am going to be poor AF if they announce an import Super series.

Dream import Super P for me, probably Lake Tahoe Blue (Dingwall’s seems to be a darker shade than some other LTB I’ve seen), with a Pau Ferro board. I’d be calling John Fox the day such a thing was announced.

IMO switch it to a master volume and a PU selector will give you more versatility I did it with mine.
That’s an odd problem ... what about both at 50%?

yeah likewise for me , I’m capped at 6 now and might sell two.
Wish I could possibly trade my d roc custom for a nice AB though....

I am going to have to do a deep dive on this after further inspection. The bass has been rewired. New hole drilled to the battery compartment to run the neck pickup. Original hole has a small dowel plugging it. All the solder spots are messy and amateur. Not sure if the 2 volume pots are original since the are soldered and not push clip. But the electronics are a mess

Curious? Are they the original dingwall pick ups or do they say EMG? It’s wierd that a new hole would have been drilled as there really isn’t options for them to go somewhere else. 9v-18v?

if the bridge pick up is all the way up

and you bring the volume on the neck up

At what point does the bridge drop out?

also, FWIW, if they are dingwall pick ups they will be passive and should not have power going to them. If they are EMGs(aside from HZs), they will be active and like 18v

How much volume can you give the neck before the bridge cuts out? Or is even the smallest amount enough to cut out the bridge completely?
This is what I was attempting to ask.
