Dingwall Owners Club

WOOHOO !

I have had a long, rough day. One of those days that's so crazy that you finally get to eat breakfast at 7:30PM.

As I was perusing my email, I saw the email that we all dream of seeing !

___________________________________________________________________

"Hi John,

I hope this message finds you well.

We will be shipping your bass down to BC tomorrow. Here's a photo, I hope you like it.

PS: I hope it's OK, we installed the new nickels on it.

Thanks for your support and have a great weekend.

Best regards,

Sheldon Dingwall"

My favorite part is the "I hope you don't mind." Like I'm going to argue with the master.

I had a problem saving the photo and somehow degraded image quality. But it makes my heart go pitter patter.

Cant wait for it to arrive !

Zoomie's not going to be getting much sleep?! That looks fantastic! Looking forward to the reviews.

When I started yelling at my wife from the other end of our home about the email, and I must admit that I sounded a little like Steve Martin shouting that the new phone book is here, My wife's exact words were.......

Thank God !

Perhaps she grew tired of me talking about it? I'm just guessing.

Ken, you're just happy that there is one less bass between you and your new baby!

It's OK. I understand. ;)

Interesting that Sheldon chose the new nickel strings for the Super P. Looking forward to hearing them. If they sound good, and reports have clearly been very favorable by everyone here, I'll just run nickels on this and continue to run the stainless on the Super J.

I am so excited to actually have a choice between the two instruments depending on gig/genre.

I just ordered a second bass from my local luthier, one of the best in this part of Europe, but I only play 4 strings, and it will be my second fretted 4 string, but it comes a time in life when you NEED a 5 string bass... and the weapon of my choice is Dingwall! By the end of 2014 I will order or buy one, hoping to get Lee Sklar model in CAR, but at least Combustion if my plans don't work out, but Dingwall all the way!
Used to be a big big fan of 5 string MusicMans & Laklands, but once you hear Dingwall, you never go back! :D

I used to be a huge Lakeland fan. Still am really. That said, I have yet to hear anything in a fiver that sounds better than a Dingwall, at least for my personal taste in tone.

Grab a Greenboy cab and match it with your favorite quality amplification, and you'll stop shopping.......except for more Dingwalls and Greenboy cabs.

I think if Sheldon ever heard any of his basses through anything Greenboy, he wouldn't know how to act.

Oh, I am glad for you and Mrs. Zoomie! I am still highly interested to hear your impressions of the Dingwall nickels on your SP. The DR nickel LoRiders sound better to me on my J/J vs. the P/J, but these are two different strings. You will be shaking panels off of Mark's studio walls - Sheldon's P pickup delivers even more than a J/J in series mode. You know me, I have to whet your anticipation even more... ;)

I feel the same way about the Flex 110 that Mike Arnopol built for me. Nothing I've played through in the past even comes close to pleasing my ears like this one.

For now........

Super PJ with the FD3 in a loud color has me thinking.

If this isn't the verbiage of a Dingwallaholic, I don't know what is! LOL! He hasn't even gotten his new and long-awaited Super P in his hands yet, and he's already dreaming of the next order!!! Tff!

And of course Sheldon, chief enabler and erstwhile supplier to his addicts, is only too happy to create the next must-have innovation that we all must DAS over and find some way to acquire!!

Oh well, I guess there are arguably worse or at least more destructive addictions out there.:help:

PS. Congrats on the new SP Zoomie!
