I just spoke with Jason today about the SP1 5 Dark Candy Green I ordered a couple weeks ago. They just got a shipment today! He was nice enough to weigh it for me, 8.96 pounds, under the 9 pound mark is good enough, and lighter than my NG3 5 string. I just didn't want a boat anchor when I do 3 hour gigs.

Jason is also going to sell me some Schaller straplocks, they have them, but aren't on the website for some reason. For what their website lacks, they make up for it in customer service. He offered to install the locks, but was going to charge, and he doesn't like swapping them out, because in rare cases, just unscrewing them can chip the finish or flake some paint off. I understand, and I've installed quite a few of them, all my basses have them, and straps, and makes it a breeze to swap. It's a risk I'm willing to take, but I wonder if there is merit to letting a brand new bass finish "cure" when it is shipped straight from the factory.

Anyways, with any luck the bass will ship tomorrow, and be here next weekish. Stoked.

Anyone know which detuners will fit an SP1?

Thinking of getting one for my 5er to swap between B and A since my band plays in both pretty often

I wanted a D tuner for my SP1 four string and Dingwall tech support said it would involve a lot of machining to get it to work. There’s very little surface around the E string tuner. Bummer, but makes sense.

Found this bass on Facebook today, it has a Hipshot Xtender with a Lollipop key. It does not look too bad from the front. I'm curious to see the back of the headstock.

I've installed one of those for a friend of mine. Here's what the headstock looks like from the back. There were no strings on it when I took the photo, that's why the shaft is kinda leaning towards the front of the headstock.

One extra hole, as the Hipshot tuner has a different format. There might be an exposed hole on the upper part of the Xtender. Can't see from the picture.
