Ooh, I like that! My son has a Prusa 3D printer. Would you be willing to share the file/template (or whatever they call them!)? If not, that is fine. I'd definitely buy one off of you.

Measure from the center of one pickup screw to the next. It should be about 36-38mm.

On my Z3 I measured
36mm from bridge pickup screw (on center) to middle pickup screw (on center).
38mm from middle pickup screw to neck pickup screw.

Thanks, when I get home I'll break out the calipers and see if it works. My thoughts are yes, the only thing that may be different is the placement of the pickups, the NG3 may be closer to the bridge or neck than the Z3 (not sure if this is the case), but the distance between pickup screws should be the same.

Luckily we both have 5 string versions, the scale on the 4 string version may change the angle of the pickups enough that the holes would be slightly off, but shouldn't be a problem for 5ers.

Dingy is here and it’s everything I had hoped for! The frets took about 5 minutes to get used to. I figured it was gonna be a difficult transition but was easy peasy. And it’s so resonant just playing it unplugged. This is my first expensive bass and man what a difference from what I’ve been playing. The b string is so freakin glorious! I know I’m preaching to the choir but I’m a convert now! All my basses are going up for sale so I can grab a couple more Dingwalls! I’m ecstatic with this purchase.

Congrats Kev! I went through the same exact thing over the past couple years. Started with a Combustion 5, fell in love, ordered a Z3, fell in love, ordered an SP-1, fell in love, and now Im trying to scheme a way to order a custom shop Super P. I am playing Dingwall exclusively now. Love them!

IMHO getting proficient on a fretless makes you a much better player on frets. You will love it. Sharpens your ear and opens up a whole new world... 😀

So I traded my Dingwall DBird with @KPopOnBass for his Super P. It arrived just in time to unpack and take to rehearsal. What a fantastic bass. My ABZ and AB1 more than cover my metal band that tunes down. In my other band, I have been playing P basses, and the Super P jumped to the front of the line tonight. It came with Thomastik Infield flats. I'll admit making comments such as "I'd never pay that for a pack of strings", but I'll be damned if the TI's were pretty fantastic! Immediately, the best "feeling" flats I've ever played, and they sound great.

That Super-P sounds amazing, how much do you want for it?!? :laugh: JK, I'm glad you love it and I'm happy to have the white D-Bird with so much history! I had never touched or even seen a D-Bird in person before (or a D-Roc for that matter) but as usual with Dingwall, no regrets with the leap of faith!

I'm now the proud owner of 2 Dingwall basses. I first purchased the D-Roc and loved it but figured I wanted to try a 5 string and ordered the Combustion. It took just about a year to be delivered but totally worth the wait. Hands down the best bass I've ever owned or played. The neck is amazing and the different sounds/tones makes it so versatile. Gotta love Dingwalls!
