Dingwall Owners Club

I received my Vintage Burst S P/J 5 back in July and am really digging it....and this is from a previously self proclaimed "not-a-P-guy." I currently have the Nickel strings on it and am digging those. I am amazed at how resonant the Super P is (acoustically)...even when comparing it to my SJ5 (w/ Stainless Steels)....which has a tone chamber. The tone knob is amazingly versitle. Recently bought a set of T.I. flats but have yet to feel compelled to put them on, as I'm currently digging this bass as-is. The honeymoon is far from over...though it does have to share me with the SJ5. :-)

Thanks all, you answered exactly what I wanted to know. Of course no one had anything negative to say so I can't talk myself out if getting one.
Yeah, you're talking to wrong bunch if you want to be talked out of buying one. LOL!

I love mine so much I can't begin to describe it, except to say it is one of those basses that just feels like an extension of me when I play it. The tone is killer, the bass is so resonant, the wenge neck and board so silky smooth, and the bass is simply gorgeous too.

I've had my Super P now for about 5 months, and I can't imagine ever being without it in the future. I can't go more than a day without picking it up just to have it in my hands. It is truly the best bass I've ever owned, bar none. My Dingwall Voodoo Prima is a VERY close second BTW!

Since we're on the subject of Super P . . . . . . Introducing the first pic of my first ever custom bass.

There's a few SP4's floating around in trans white. I thought we needed a 5er to stare at :D. First clean fb SP series I've seen (there's a sj on dingwall site). Also, cant tell it has side blue lumilays :)
Better lit pics to be taken once I receive it. Top 1/2 looks kind of swirly and the bottom striped :hyper:

Well done, good score, also interesting to note that it hasn't got the usual Super J / Super P tuners but a set of Hipshot style black tuners as used on the ABZ / ABII series as well as a black bridge.

Yes sir, I like the modern look on an a refined classic :)

The frets are all crooked though. I think you got duped!

;)

You got it :D

The black hardware and modern tuners really make it. Great custom build!

Sure does, Thanks !

Gorgeous!

Sure is !

It's a 'clean machine', BC! I was confessing to Bob a few days ago that if I had the 'disposable' income, I'd be commissioning one of the new FD-3 equipped SJ's in trans-white, but I don't know if that's going to happen while I'm still on earth. Enjoy your beautiful new tone-monster! :)

Disposable income would be nice :) Then I'd be a Dingwall distributor with my own store :bassist: I probably would have already bought that ABZ off of MDBass as well :D

I will enjoy the heck out of it. Too bad I won't have it for the show this weekend. More to follow once I receive it.

As BC mentioned, I re-listed that brand new ABZ5 for sale in the classifieds; it's a phenomenal bass in totally mint showroom condition, and that new recessed strap button is an absolutely ingenious innovation, but the Super series is the better fit for me.

I'll knock a bit off the price if anyone in the club is interested ;)

If I wasnt looking for an active (NG-2 probably down the road), I would be all over that.

That is certainly one good looking SuperP5! I think it is the first Super series bass I have seen with a black bridge.

I had originally ordered mine with black hardware, but changed back to chrome about 2 months from completion. Just decided that with the vintage style blocks that a more vintage hardware look was appropriate, though I'm sure the black hardware would have kicked butt as well.
