Donr know if this affects you, but when I installed my tone capsule on my charvel with emg actives, instead of wiring the tone capsule to the volume, I ran it to the tone so that I still had a tone control in the chain. I don't have a switch on mine though (to turn it on and off)
I got the answer from Sheldon. Basically no passive tone control when you choose the Tone Capsule.
I think this is because Dingwall caps at 5 knobs and doesn't use stacked controls. Push/pull volume for active/passive, rotary selector, bass, low mid, high mid for the Tone Capsule. I have another bass for my Tone Capsule on order and it will have vol/vol stack, active/passive with tone, bass with series/parallel, and high/low mid stack. Treble knob on the Glockenclang pre doubles as a passive tone control when not in active mode.
Soooooooo yeah. Jammed today with the band for the first time with the NG-2. We've got our first gig this friday, so I really wanted to see if I got tripped up with playing it. I wasn't really worried about the fanned frets, I'm still trying to adjust to the pickup location with how my thumb rests, and how my fingers drop when doing my 3 finger triplets. Dropping my fingers down on the pickup is new. Normally there's space between the string and the body. But I did fine with all of it. I found that I could do some more 16th speed notes way back close to the bridge..it's got a bit of space there that feels comfortable. But the tension is a little stiffer.
The tone? Holy sh1t. I've got a tone capsule in my charvel, but it doesn't sound ANYTHING like this NG-2. Normally I max out the low mids and high mids on my Darkglass B7K, but with the Tone capsule boosting my mids a hair I run the b7k mids with just a slight boost rather than maxing. This thing punches thru the mix more than any of my other basses.
Our show this Friday is opening up for a metal fest with a bunch of bands, I've got a feeling I'm going to be answering a LOT of questions at our merch booth. This is hands down the best bass I've ever played, and the best my tone's ever been. The 7 months wait was beyond worth it.

Tried an ibanez fanned fret today. Nice bass, finish and neck are decent, fanning is mild. Biggest let down though is the sound. Just not comparable to my dingwalls.
Yes, the Dingwall tone was a revelation to me with my Combustion V4. Just never realised that a tone could be so different to what I have been used to for a multitude of years yet sound so naturally right. Plus so many choices as I look to get my second.....this one will be a four stringer...what a fabulous company.

I caught my ABZ patting my Squier P5 on the headstock the other day.
I couldn't quite hear what it was saying, but I suspect it was something like "there, there. He hasn't forgotten you..."

The NG-2 has a 4 way position switch. We'll call the front one a neck pickup even though it's stacked at the bridge.
It goes Neck-Both Series-Both Parallel-Bridge.
I think what he's asking is if the NG2 is routed for the neck pickup like a regular Combustion, and the answer is yes, though the neck and middle pickup routes overlap. @CL400Peavey plans on having his Conbustion routed just enough to fit all three pickups.

Ahh that makes sense. Actually now that I think about it, when I put the decal on my carbon fiber pick guard I noticed that I could push it down a little bit meaning there must be a route there to about where the neck pickup would be.
Yesterday the band playing after mine had a problem with the electronics of their Epiphone bass and no backup.
Since they asked nicely and promised not to break anything I lent them my SP5. Their bass player did a very nice job having never played a 5 string and never even heard of fanned frets. That proves how much of a non-issue they are.
Needless to say he enjoyed my bass and probably wants one of his own now.
