Long story short—got this Dingwall Z3 earlier this year and it has been my main axe ever since. With an ash body and wenge/wenge neck it provides a cut-thru jazz tone while empowering the modern metal growl. A narrower spacing and a slender neck make it perfect for fast picking and tapping. Hands down the most comfortable neck.

I tried to accept the gig back with my PJ too, but I just couldn't. The biggest problem to me is that it's so difficult to put it safely out of the way while setting up. A hard case will just sit nicely and is safe, but the gigbag was so difficult.Does anyone need a Dingwall-branded Levy's gigbag?
This bag came with my Z2, but I'm a creature of habit (and caution) so I've just never warmed to the idea of carrying my Dingwall in this bag.
Thought I'd offer it here before I post it on the classifieds...

I always hear great things. I haven't had a chance to try out a Mono case yet though. I actually took a shot in the dark and tried this SKB SKB Pro Series Bass Case. I've found the quality to be excellent and it fit my PJ 5 string with such incredible precision I was shocked. It's 100% perfect for that bass.I love the MONO M80 case, they provide a lot of protection!

I personally love the Dingwall-Levy's bag. The one with the backpack straps that can be tucked away and the rain cover? Such excellent features, plenty of padding. If I had the cash, I'd glady buy this one!
I also have a dually and a vertigo. Love them.I have a M80 (single) and a M80 dual, they are both great! They do offer great protection! I've flown with them and brought them inside the plane as carry on too!
Personal opinion here: I disagree, I don't think they offer good protection compared to the mono m80, again...my personal opinion!

My Dingwall's (both long scales) fit in the vertigo no problem. Not sure about the bongo.I went with the M80 because it fits larger basses. I used to own a few EBMM Bongos and I exchanged some emails with the folks over at MONO, and they told me that the Bongo 6 didn't fit in the vertigo.
Yeah, Bongos have bigger/larger bodies and larger headstocks. My Dingwall's (both long scales) fit in the vertigo no problem. Not sure about the bongo.

My first Dingwall arrived today (I preordered this last January when they were announced then switched it to white when that color was announced). Can't wait for rehearsal on Monday to really put it through the paces.
Love that bass! Does it have a walnut body? I was wondering how chambered walnut in the ABII vs solid swamp ash in the ABZ would affect the tone? (Other things being equal)No video (yet), just a couple more pics:

Yes, it has a chambered walnut body. The tone is very strong and vivid in the mid range. I guess the neodymium pickups have their part in that, too.Love that bass! Does it have a walnut body? Nice!
How do you tune it? E standard or lower?
