I’m not him but I’d be willing to say those are the FDV’s with the all three/series setting.

I’m not him but I’d say, at minimum, Darkglass Super Symmetry, Alpha Omega and the OmniCabSim.
yes, dbird -> supersymmetry -> alpha omega -> omnicabsim -> interface (that‘s it... and volume boost in the recording software so that the bass can be heard more )

Well, I took this Super P home last night and spent the night bonding with it. I took to the fanned frets like I was born to play Dingwall... no problem there. It will take some repetitions to adjust to the string spacing of a 5-string (lifelong 4-banger here), but again, that is coming along too. The tone on the Super P was a little darker than I expected. The Fusion tone control is interesting... regular passive filter on one side of the detent and mid-cut on the other. I'm taking this to band practice tonight, so I'll see how the bass fits in the mix. But, I do see what the big deal is with Dingwall... I've owned Sadaowskys and Nordys - Dingwalls are definitely in the same league. I can also see how these can become addictive. Better start saving my monies.

Matt, interesting how differently we all perceive things, when I got my SP5, I felt like it had a lot of booty as opposed to being dark sounding, but I kind of get where your coming from. Most of us here who started with a SP5, have ended up with an SPJ5 which allows you to also dial in a "lighter" tone, e.g., neck and bridge PUPs in parallel. Mo at Nordstrand does a reasonable but excellent conversion. Many are happy with just an SP5 though.
When I think dark tone, I think back to my early production Sadowsky NYC J5 with Bartolini PUPs. Also my Singlecut Nordstrand 5.

It does have pretty massive booty.... and I do like it. I suspect I’ll get another Dingwall of a different flavor later this year.

The cabs I play through have superb high-end response. All I do to achieve 'Super P Tone Nirvana' is crank the treble and presence controls on my Reeves (it'll get as sparkly as you need)... Enjoy that new Superb P (spelling intentional) and save your money for the next one, brother!

Congrats on the SP5! I'm curious if you know what kind of strings are on it? I've had two different SP5s. Interestingly they both came strung up with DA chromes. One set was almost dead, but I pulled off both sets pretty quickly as I found them too dark.
I should say that I've enjoyed chromes on other P basses in the past, but even a relatively new set was too dark for me on SP5s (both with pau ferro boards). So far the only other flats I've tried are TI jazz flats (on SP4 and SP5)- been happy with the TIs.
Im currently using Dunlop super bright nickel rounds on my SPJ5 and SJ5. Very nice strings. I'd like to try the new Dunlop flats sometime to hopefully achieve a similar tension/feel in a flat. But then again, depending on the music, I think it would be hard to improve on the sound of the TIs. Always liked them on a Pbass!
One final thought- I have been surprised to hear a significant difference in the maple/maple neck vs maple/Pau ferro. Don't want to start the whole maple is brighter than rosewood thing, but I percieved a difference in the treble content when directly comparing SP5s with same pickups and woods- only difference was fingerboard wood. This experience has left me preferring maple boards. Of course my newish-to-me alder/maple/pau ferro SP5 sounds great with TI flats in the band mix. Maybe it's the burst/tort I'm hearing

Thinking about picking up an dingwall. And I apologize if this is a question you see a lot. But I’m curious. Have any of you tried putting DR hi beams on your Dingwall bass? I understand there are some issues with using some bass strings on Dingwall Basses. A lot of what Ive been able to find searching online is some strings work, others don’t, it’s a crap shoot kind of thing.DR high beams have been my go to strings for about a decade. I believe the winding length is 38” and the low b on the dingwalls is 37” scale so I know it’s gotta be pretty darn close either way.

A Super P is not 37" scale. I do not think the DRs fit on a long scale bass.
