Just a word,I wall hang now because I had a broken water pipe in my basement. My Basses were in cases on the floor. I rescued them but my amp was in standing water, not good for tone or volume at all.

Do You Put Your Bass In Case Or Stand

I used to leave one of my basses on a stand. But since I am so uptight about dust collecting on/in the pups, bridge, and all the "tight" spaces, all my children are put snugly in their beds when not in use.
I currently have 5 on wall hangars
1 sitting on the floor, leaned up against the end of a loveseat
1 on a floor stand.
All of those get rotated around with whatever I'm currently playing on the floor stand when not in use.

At home my basses stay on stands, ready to play. But I don't have pets or children. The greatest danger is the Roomba.
My home was recently burglarized. They only took instruments that were in cases. Now I display everything.
I keep my instruments out on stands with a few exceptions. Keeping them in cases discourages me from playing them all regularly. Some of the more delicate do live in a case or gig bag. I keep a couple of necessary hard cases available for transport the rest have a storage spot in the garage.
I have a spot for practice at my desk, and I usually have a bass there, unless I'm gigging. The others get left in cases and gig-bags. I live close enough to the ocean that leaving them out would kill my strings over time. I practice most nights, so it's easy to leave it on a stand ready to go. It's the neck hanger on a tripod type, which is much safer than the old school stands IMO. I don't have to worry about the cat or my wife touching it either.
Don’t be less than a “Bass Ace”, PUT IT IN THE CASE!!!!!!!! Don’t want Your’s to be the 25th Headstock repair I have done over the years. In my book a GOOD stand would be second choice. Leaning against you cab, or other furniture, Really?
I carry my bass into the venue on a stand, then put it in a case onstage.
My bass stays on display on its stand unless I’m transporting it. It’s beautiful to look at even when it’s not being played!
I have no idea if one storage method - stand or case - is better than the other. I suspect it doesn’t matter. It’s more important that the temperature and humidity levels stay relatively stable however you choose to store it.

The rest get rotated out of their cases onto 3 other stands, for their month of being tweeked/tuned/played. Then they get wiped down and go back into their cases...
Not too many. I'm currently at 24, with 2 more in the build process, and they all live in their cases. They're only out for practicing and/or gigging. Not gonna let the elements have their way with my babies.
Both my Sadowsky NYCs are hanging on the wall right now. Before I put the hangers up I used stands.
