No, never have, likely never will. Especially if I'm ever fortunate enough to go somewhere like New Zealand, the last thing I want to see is my bass.

I do..... it's a beater bass short scale I hacked up with a jigsaw. I take it on any holiday of more than a few days. Going overseas I take the neck off and it fits in a medium sized travel bag.

And it's times like this that make it worth it. Plunking away to some favorite songs with a view like this with a really nice beer, after spending a day walking in some amazing scenery. Priceless!

No, not the bass. I’ll take a guitar on occasion but the bass never.

No. I spend a lot of hours playing music during year. So when i'm on holidays out of home, i don't take any instrument. And even if i'm staying at home, i barely touch one. And when i'm coming back from holidays, I've got a new freshness, new ideas in the playing. It's a .... kind of magic.

I did when I was younger. Will probably do it after I retire. But right now vacation time is family time for me.

I bring my carbon Jouney bass with an easily removable neck. The backpack it comes with has a spot for my laptop as well, so it's perfect! Sounds great with tapewound strings as well.

Most of my vacation travel (pre-Covid) was via plane. I usually take a mandolin inside a tennis racket case and pop it in the overhead.
And in one particular frequent destination, I keep a bass there.

No, it's called vacation and to me that means to do other things than what you normally do, unless of course if during your normality you do not play bass often, well in this case...

This summer I did because I was picking up a bass amp as part of the trip and wanted to test it out.

If I ever acquire a 6 or 7 string headless bass I may bring it otherwise probably not.

Never a bass. If we're on a beach vacation I'll bring a digitakt or something similar. The only time I'm ever bored in my life is after about 3 hours at the beach. Naturally my wife loves beach vacations. My style vacation is run and gun sight seeing, preferably some old historic city. That's when I bring my cameras. Most vacations now are family oriented for the kids, and i spend my time soaking up their enjoyment and discovery of the world.

NAH..... too cumbersome.... Now if ya have to play that bad. Yer on vacation, ideally your sampling the local cuisine in all regards. So ya go to the local music store, get something used - play it while on vacation - return it before you leave. Walla......
