Dumb CL Ad's pt 5, Dumbester and Dumberest

Discussion in 'Bass Humor & Gig Stories [BG]' started by Thor, Mar 22, 2013.

  1. Now this guy knows how to write an ad. I'm sure he will get tons of constructive responses.

    http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/muc/4609082375.html

Anyone want to play good music? (pacifica)

ELP, Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, Camel, Renaissance, Moody Blues, The Nice, Rush, Deep Purple, Procol Harem, Chicago, Robin Trower, Cream?

Does anyone want to play real music anymore( and that's assuming anyone reading this ever has which is assuming a lot), or is everyone in this degenerated, joke of a musical scene area stuck to sucking on their punk rock baby bottles, playing thrash metal or whatever garbage that has no more than 3 chords, stuck in a stupefied fantasy convincing themselves that they know how to play music at all because some wasted immature junior high school drop outs yell out from time to time in some kiddies sleaze joint to be noticed and verify they're still conscious hanging out at their favorite drug hang out where they can feel comfortable because there are other people as stupid and trashed out as they are thinking they're rockin' out when they can barely talk coherently and are operating on one brain cell that's also damaged.

...and if you follow the link in that one, you go to the Ebay page with, according to the pics, that exact guitar which is in Princeton NJ and an asking price of $4900. I'm half-tempted to call the guy here and ask to come by and see the LP, just to see what happens.

I see a lot of that stuff on my local area's version of CL. I'm in central KY and a guy was selling a truck worth $10,000 for around $6k because he was in the military and had just moved to California. He said he'd deliver it anywhere in the US and if you didn't like it, he'd refund you and pay to deliver it back.

Ignoring the obvious, that if he is giving it away so cheap, he should find a good buyer within a few blocks of his house, it is so obviously a scam as to be comical. That site actually allows people to make comments on posts selling stuff and there are a lot of folk that call out the scams. How about a Like New tractor for $2500 that is worth closer to $25,000? One commenter said "Scammer! The tires are worth more than that.".

This sort of thing is actually really common.

1960s Japan made electric bass guitar (deer park)

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
    condition: good

1960s unknown Japan made electric bass guitar, its a right hand (standard / normal) guitar but it was strung lefty, but that's just a matter of swapping the strings back around or putting on a fresh set.
it works but the knobs are a little scratchy, which is to be expected since the instrument is around 50 years old. the case is original or at least bought at the same time as the instrument, it shows some wear and has a lot of duct tape on it but still doesn't look too bad.
price is $500 FIRM, if your not willing to pay that I have no problem keeping it as a wall hanging.
call show contact info if interested NO TEXT MESSAGES thank your for looking :)

Well, I actually see nothing wrong with this ad. He just wants a relaxed situation, no pressuring. I play in one such band, one a week practice, working on 5 songs at the time until we get them perfected, then the next... Slow but relaxing proccess :)

    5 String IBANEZ Bass - SDGR - $250 (sunbury)

Badass black/silver speckle five string bass. Plays like a champ. This just might be the best bass IBANEZ ever produced. Will take best offer in case there is a bidding war.

I can think of about 3 punchlines, but would probably offend someone, so will just have to sit and laugh.

No, no. I love mine, but don't think I would pay retail, or recommend anybody do that. Ever. Is it still a bidding war if people are rushing to give you half of your asking price?

Now, for $120 on CL, no problem. For $250 on CL, problem.
