Dunwich Amplification General Discussion

Over the past ~1 year where I have not been building I have played and beat many video games. It was my primary enjoyment with the time I had.

Res 2 Remake, Res 3 Remake, Res 1 Remake, Res 6, Res 7, MGS4, MGS5, Days Gone, Witcher 3, Mass Effect Andromeda, Dragon Age Inquisition, Death Stranding, Fallout 4, God of War (PS4), Outer Worlds, Horizon Zero Dawn, Diablo 2 (PC throwback!), Mortal Kombat 10.

The only game I bought and haven't played through is R2R. I just can get any steam into the game. I have a Res4 remaster that I am 50% done with that I will likely finish up as I move back into doing more gear related pursuits.

I was going to pick up Cyberpunk but I was planning on waiting til they sort out the bugs and the prices drops.

I remember beating the Wii Zelda game and adoring it, but fell off after that. I've been thinking of getting a switch though; just for the Zelda.

I snagged a switch right when the pandemic started (I have 2 small kids so thought it might make this whole thing a bit more tolerable) and got Zelda. I swore off video games in college when that 4 player Bond game, golden eye was all the rage cause it was dominating my time. I gotta say, Zelda is unbelievably fun. I have very little time that I'm willing to play video games but when I want to play for an hour or something, I can just walk around that world and hunt and cut down trees and other inane nonsense forever. Who cares about the quest, just walking around doing stuff in that game is so enjoyable and if you are into missions there are all these side missions and tons of stuff to figure out.

Professional opinion: unless you own a really good PC (aka a 20XX GPU or 30XX GPU) or a new console (PS5/Xbox Series X), skip it. They'll never get it running "well" on the old consoles and it isn't optimized on old PC hardware. I enjoy the game but it's a tough one to run.

I did the same. Zelda: Breath of the Wild is surprisingly fun. Solving the Shrines and freeing the Divine Beasts was my favorite

I was addicted to Ghost of Tsushima over the holidays. One of the best of 2020, imo

My intention was to pick up PS5 when they do the second hardware revision (also where they work our those hardware bugs) and then get the game.

I thought about getting the kiddos one for Christmas, but maybe I'll surprise em at the end of January. I think we'll all get a kick out of Zelda and super smash brothers. I showed them Jedi Fallen Order on ps4 and it was a hit. I've been thinking of resuming where I left off in Witcher 3 or the Last Guardian for myself to get lost in something. I played the hell out of Diablo 3 at the start of this crapshow.

The switch also has a subscription option for like $20 for the year that allows you to play all the classic nintendo games and super NES games on the switch which is kinda cool. I ended up getting it because some switch games like splatoon aren't fun unless you have the subscription and can connect to the online universe. They always get ya w some aftermarket thing...but I was pleasantly surprised to see the access to all the old games. My wife is a big tetris/dr mario nut so she can sit there for hours solving puzzles...I'd rather spend my hours comparing the uber subtle nuances between dirt pedals.

Speaking of dirt pedals and while we have @dunwichamps in the thread...I LOVE the DA-120 (got one from Magic's last run), but curious why it's so massive in size? Just cause it looks bada.s or some other reason? I'd love to get that thing in a box 1/2 the size.

Ohhh man, Diablo 2. That brings me back. I still every now and then, like once a year, create a new hardcore character and playthrough with some random build but I usually tap out around Act 3-4 in Nightmare mode. One of the greatest games of all time.

Also this bad boy came in :)
Only had about 2 or so hours with it but it’s definitely finding a permanent home on my board.

I wanted the originals to layout like a Matamp hence the long horizontal enclosure.

Aesthetics >>> Function

However, that is also why I put out the 1590BBs and the 125Bs later on.

I have a character in normal offline that is in Act 1 Hell but its tough to play through as a Mage due to all of the immunities. I am not super great at Teleport skipping either.
