Ebay Restricted item?

Doesn't make sense to me. They ship something fragile - the worst thing that happens is it breaks and they pay for it. Instead, they paid for it...

This happened to me with a Music Man guitar a little while ago. Ebay offered to send it back to me if I wanted and I bet they would do the same for you. You can still sell domestically. And, yes, Ebay will liquidate that bass wholesale to someone else or perhaps sell domestically on the site themselves.

UPDATE: For laughs, I looked it up on Ebay...and there it is...sell for just a hair over what I got paid (and they are using my pics as well). It says it's some random member, but I'm guessing it's just Ebay doing it themselves.

Many Rick vendors in Europe, including Thomann, they all have the rosewood board models.
On their webpage, Thomann say the 4003 rosewood fingerboard is Caribbean rosewood (Metopium Brownei), I don't know if that very species of wood is actually under a CITES ban (it is not, according to this: Chechen | The Wood Database - Lumber Identification (Hardwood)), but would there be a difference with @Ric5 's one?

The Global Shipping Program will NOT ship a package marked FRAGILE or GLASS

I shipped it in the box from the manufacturer that said both of those words

So wait, basically they are holding the bass the buyer gets a refund and you get to keep the amount you sold it for?? that is fine for the buyer and you but it sounds like to me someone at ebay has a bass they need to sell for double to recoup costs why not refund the buyer and send the bass back to you I am totally confused at this

Maybe because :
a) they don't have to pay to ship it back to you, they charge the buyer.
b) They'll probably try to sell it for more.
c) Bob the Warehouse Manager has been dying for a Rick.

Seems like it would be easy to scam ebay this way by selling a fakenbacker for real Ric cash.

Not saying anyone should, but it seems like a poorly thought out way for ebay to do business.

My package was a plain U-line box with no writing. I doubt it had anything to do with the word fragile and I'd be real surprised if you are able to get the bass back

Such a shame. You did such a beautiful job on it. Hopefully someone gets to play it, even if it isn't the intended buyer.

The problem is the BOX .... it says Fragile Glass on it .... The Global shipping Center won't touch a box like that
