This is worrying. Now I really hope that Canadapost does not have those kind of issues about sending a Rickenbacker to Europe. And I am happy I didn't make an offer on those sold trough EBay...

No, not giving me the bass back. eBay Australia even had emailed me on behalf of the buyer and wanted to know why I ' cancelled ' the sale. Zero communication. Bass is in limbo I guess

I got to keep the money and the seller got his money, having the bass show back up would be like Christmas

OK ... to ANYBODY selling a bass on ebay

Turn off the Global shipping option

If you are selling a small item that is not fragile then you are ok

But otherwise turn off that option on ebay and you should avoid this problem

Just an FYI
When my custom bass was stolen, a friend found on it for sale eBay 2 years later, so I called eBay to stop the sale.
They told me I had to contact my local police to have them officially stop the sale.
By the time they got off their arse and responded, it had been sold to someone in Hong Kong, and I had to buy it back, after convincing the buyer it really had been stolen from me.

Sell a normal Rickenbacker bass for $10,000 and then ebay confiscates it and lets you keep the money. Then split the $8500 profit with the buyer.

That is my new get rich scheme
