I played one Sandberg and really liked it, but also really didn't like the bridge adjustments. Still I'd love to pick one up at some point with the reverse P (either VT or VM)

How do yall take care of your fretboards? I use F one on my rosewood basses once a year. Okay to use on these lighter, roasted maple necks?
I never used oil on maple boards. Just some light dish soap and water and elbow grease

Anyone else make the move from Lakland DJ5 to EBMM 5HH? Hope I'm not making a mistake. Can only keep one.
No but the 35 inch scale and wider necks of the DJ5 I never would have considered. Let alone being 1 to 2 pound plus heavier. If that's not a concern for you then the real issue will be if postion 2 & 4 satisfy your Jazz bass tone enough. From a craftsmanship, Playability, hardware standpoint, & musical pre-amp of Stingray Special's IMHO biased as it is they're a excellent example of what a great production high end instrument should be. Unfortunately I wish had bought a 5 HH sooner.

What @Maxi Funkl said is pretty true. I never adjusted to the longer scale length of my 55-02 (such a shame, it was a FANTASTIC bass, very well made, very versatile, and sounded great) and I repalced it with my first Stingray. I miss the Lakland, but my Stingrays have been much better fits for me. And, as a big Jazz fan as well (I currently have two variations - one active and one passive), I agree that position 2 gets you into Jazz bass territory. I love Position 4 also, it's been my favorite Stingray HH setting since getting my first Stingray, but I find it more P like than J like. Not that I have a problem with that. I like P's too!
EDIT: If *I* could only have one bass and those were my choices, it would be an SR5HH. No contest, even though I love Jazz basses.

Nice! Yeah, I love Ida's bass, it's so light... and that pickguard! I like unique basses.
Pretty funky! Looks like it might be a Sterling, but funky nonetheless.

The hardest thing will be getting used to the g string being way too close to the edge of the board. It’s a bad design that EBMM for some reason won’t fix

I figured if Marcus Miller can adjust on the fly , then I can too. Seems to me EBMM is thinking …. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Same goes for the 19MM spacing. Some features are simply it is what it is.
I don’t know if I’d compare myself to Marcus but ymmv
Having owned plenty of both, the Lakland 5 is my favorite 5 and the EBMM stingray 4 is perfect as well.
Again, it’s a matter of preference but if you are someone moving from the Lakland to the EBMM 5 then you will most certainly notice the g string flaw.
Never thought about using the fretboard wipes on the back of the neck before . . .

I use for Fretboard like it says not sure I would use it on back of neck without OK from ebmm
Was on my radar before buying. Luckily I had played some before and found this out the hard way. Wonder if they did fix it, somehow? Not having that issue with this new one.

I'm loving position 2 and 3. Treble cut almost all the way, but dialed in until it starts to bite. Mids and Bass boosted almost 75%ish. I sometimes boost mids to 100%.
