EHX Bass Mono Synth

I just pre-ordered from Sweetwater.

Seems like a new "9" series pedal, except it has 11 options. And it's targeted at bass specifically.

So...my first thought, 5 seconds into the video, is "wow, there's a synth attack that no synth pedal (midi pickups aside) has really gotten right before."

So first sounds great. Second sounded like garbage to me. Third sounds cool. Still listening.

Very cool overall. Gonna check it out more. I may have to get one of these.

Do want. EHX has really upped thier game w the 9s and the expression for each preset is what everyone has been waiting for. This is a homerun imo.

I wanted a Meris Enzo, but at this price, this may be the way to go...

I‘ve got an Enzo. Based on the reviews and videos I thought this would be the thing for me but first hand experience showed me that it isn‘t. Because I was so excited about it, I ordered it in the US when it wasn‘t available in Germany yet (where I live), so I didn‘t get around to sending it back and still have it. But I‘m sure I will let it go rather sooner than later. For bass it only sounds good in mono mode, poly and arp are pretty much useless. The things it can do in dry mode are a nice add on but I have better sounding dedicated pedals for those. And even in mono mode the tracking is only mediocre and there is not very much variation in the sound. The filter sounds really good but the control over it is quite limited and I particularly don‘t like that it doesn‘t retrigger until it has finished a full cycle.

The level of control on this new EHX synth is of course much less than on the Enzo but from the demo video I think that there is more variation in sound and as I said before I really liked the tracking on the Synth9 when I tried that and hope it will be on the same level for the Bass Mono Synth.

I haven’t gotten bored with my analog octave pedal. Give it a chance before you spit your vitriol.

Although I agree your point that one great sound from a pedal can often be enough, I thought that your second statement was a bit harsh. @bbh wasn't saying this is a bad pedal for everyone, just not for him. The guy is entitled to express his opinion on his likely reaction to it, right?
