Electro-Harmonix Bass Big Muff

Dude, do you have any idea how long that battery might've been in there?

I've had as many stock batteries last ages as I've had ones that died in mere minutes. Remember that they're bonuses - not requirements. :p

I was just using it as an excuse to back out of getting a power supply (for now).

For a while I though it died... :o

In my opinion, it adds a lot of sparkle, chunk, and clarity to the muff tones:

Do you have a normal muff to make an audio comparison with?

I have a NYC reissue muff and just cant find a decent sound in it :( I also have a Line 6 Bass Pod Xt wich has a rams head eara muff in it, and I can get very good tone from that. I know the Line 6 isnt an actual muff though.

I'm a guitarist who is a recovering fuzz addict. I've owned a ton of fuzzes, and many Muffs over the years. The only other muffs I've ever tried on bass were the USA muff and the LBM. The USA sounded great, but I didn't dig the LBM.

I suppose perhaps an EQ after your USA will help it. Or get an RC booster to put after to shape the tone.

Ok, I dont mean financial investment. What I mean is, which pedal is better the bass big muff or the Swollen Pickle MkII?

It's hard to judge a pedal that isn't available yet. I'll be acquiring one (of course), but judgement is withheld. I like the Pickle sound, and I like the idea of the changes they made... will it be good? Who knows.

That's what I'm doing with my LBM. I've got a PBDDI following it, with the Bass EQ boosted enough that when I kick on the LBM and Sansamp, there's no low end loss.

I love to be able to replicate that sound with the BBM alone, but I'll have to wait until they're stocked locally to try one out. Until then, I'll continue to stomp twice.

They are available now. Just ordered mine today, the shop has them on stock. Get you updated as soon as I have it.
if you're talking about the pickle, i pretty sure they havent released them yet...you may be getting jerked around by the store. I've heard through the grapevine, it's still getting tweaked

On another note i just ordered my Bass Big muff yesterday, luckily i can buy direct from EH. I really enjoy the big muff tone and i think this one will be pretty darn cool! And at that price...man!!! It really shows what a value getting stuff surface mounted overseas is. (meant not as a dig...being serious)
