Epifani Quest Discontinued?

.....I decided to wait on the footswitch to see how I like the Quest, and see if I really need it. I'll probably live without it.

I think you'll find that (1) either you'll use the mid cut on channel 1 or you won't. I think it's a little extreme...in that when I use it, it cuts TOO much... so I have no need for it. (2) mute is handy, but may be the only feature that you'll regularly use... AND you need a tuner, either rack mounted (which I have no additional space for, pedal, or other outboard model) not worth $75.... (3) you'll use either one or the other EQ channel most/all the time... and you won't have a need to switch back and forth.

Those are the three things that it is intended for... and only one of them will do you/me any good and ain't really worth $75 unless you've got room in your rack for a tuner... which I don't... so FWIW, this is strictly IMO, YMMV...:D

I don't use my pedal, but I got it when I purchased my 502 thinking that someday I might. It's just as easy for me to reach back and switch channels or the mid cut in ch 1. I use the mid cut for slapping which isn't very much so it's not used to much. If there's any tone shaping while I'm playing, I do it on my Fodera.

I finally pulled the plug and ordered the Quest II, but I can't seem to get to epifani's website. Is it down or something? Does anyone have thier number so I can order the rack ears? Or does anyone have a set they will sell me?

Works for me also. Silly question though, did you try the refresh button.

yup, no matter how many times I try it, I get a server time out issue. I'll just wait to try it from home. My work blocks a lot of sites, but not talkbass!

Works fine for me. Hopefully, your phone will still let you call them. If not, then your wife/girlfiend is definitely onto you! :D

Haha, I was already able to call them and order the rack ears. My wife wasn't exactly happy when I told her I was upgrading my rig again, but I just had to have it! ;)

The key work to omit when telling her about it is "upgrade"...I've learned to explain it as just "trying something new" ;)

Actually, I think he's got it right...

See, if I'm "upgrading", I'm just improving what I already have, which "saves money", if I had to totally buy new, that sounds worse. In other words, get them to think of it like buying new tires for the car instead of a whole new car. :)

Oh, also, definitely play the "sale" card. They totally relate to stuff on sale... especially the "one time only don't miss out or you're an idiot" sales. :)

lol...i also will explain it as a "trade". i almost never buy something new without selling something old. i just leave out all of the extra details about me spending more money then what i got for the old gear. :ninja:
