Favorite bass for 3 hour gig?

Wow. I have a Korean Spector, the NS-20004 which was built around 2000-2001. I love the sound but I cannot use it as my only bass at a gig, as it weighs around ELEVEN FREAKING POUNDS.
I can use almost any of my other basses. However, I do not, ever, ever, ever, EVER go to a gig with only 1 bass. I have been burned very badly before, and I will never hang my butt out like that again.
Rickenbacker 4001, light as a feather. My Squier VMJ is also just fine for gigging.
The only one I would never use as my main, only bass would be the Spector. Due to the unbelievable weight. My other basses average around 8 lbs.
Wow, nice to see people going with Squiers nowadays. Their quality and appeal have greatly improved in recent years. As for me, if I had to go with just one bass for a gig id choose my Fender deluxe J for tonal variety and range. Nothing beat my old MM Sterling in terms of weight and comfort though. IMO not as effective for jazz though
I A/B'd the '70's VMJ with a Geddy Lee Jazz. They were in terms of feel and tone virtually identical. I could not tell the difference to play or hear. I've got two of those now, the '70's model and the '62 fretless Jaco knockoff. Both are excellent instruments and a delight to play.
Yup. Which is why I love my Carvin AC50 semi-hollow body. SUPER light weight! Wonderful playability. And decent tone (though not for everything). When it fits the music it's a hard bass to beat.

I play the same bass for a twenty minute gig or a three hour concert! My Ansir Bass! It's built to feel like an extension of my body.

For now, one of my SX P basses (8.5 lbs). Using a hideously heavy Frankenstein Fender for almost two decades killed my shoulder.
It really depends on the gig...

These days, my longer gigs require a 5 string, and my Ibanez CT bass is pretty dang light. A liiiittle on the neck heavy side, but with the right strap, it's perfect.
On the 4 banger side, i play mainly shortscales... so any one of my Squire Bronco, Gretsch G2202 or SX ss Jaguar are a-okay! Though i tend to go for the SX Jag, as i still like the J/J versatility on some of those longer gigs. It's also remarkably comfortable and well balanced. On the Jag body, i even LIKE the 'new' SX headstock

Either my Lakland 55-01, or my MIM Fender Jazz. 4 hours straight with no breaks nearly every Thursday night with the Lakland, I'm definitely sore afterwards.

If I only took one bass, it would be either the Lakie 55-01 or the JO5. Although my '85 P is easily the most comfortable bass to wear, it doesn't have the versatility that I would need for my typically 9-1 gig.
Sadowsky NYC PJ5. It's the lightest bass I own, and probably the most versatile in terms of different sounds available.

LOL, thats is a ton brick, usually i see people apraising sadowsky for its light weight is a pro go daily working bass, i don't own one though

Hey just did a 3 hour deal on Sat used the Maple Body and neck Gibson Ripper with a seriously fat leather strap I bought decades ago I am told it is quite heavy but I am used it and do not find it heavy myself? I just read somewhere that it is over 10lbs???? maybe?
