Yup. I've used both my MB500 and my MB Fusion to run my 12/6Cube/1, and they are my favorite micro heads to use with the fEARfuls. I can't wait to try them with an MB800!

Hey gang-
I have taken the plunge and am now in the process of constructing myself a pair of 15/6/1s. I'm excited as these seem to be an ideal evolution of the Acme concept. Looking for any input on finishing/carpet as I'm on the fence about what the boxes will ultimately look like.

I sprayed a 12/6 with Krylon in April of 2010. It still looks good. Krylon is pretty tough stuff.
Advantages to paint:
Cheap
Easy to apply
Easy to touch up, if needed
I can change the color if I get tired of green
I can add graphics (band logo, etc.) if I want

In my case, I'm too cheap and too lazy (also don't like putting all those solvents into the air). When it comes to durability, I'm thinking longer term.
Duratex is non stinky, easily rolled on, cleans up with water, dries quickly for re-coating (2 hours on a warm, dry day,) all round cool stuff. Touch up is easy.
I use a cheap rough nap wienie roller, and wrap it in a plastic grocery sack between coats, and chuck it after the last coat. There is almost no clean up with Duratex.
A gallon bucket of Duratex lasts years with out going bad and puts dozens of coats on cabs. After doing half a dozen cabs with multiple coats there is still over a third of a bucket. The stuff starts to look not very expensive. If you get white you can tint it to different colors.
I've had rat fur cabs, but they collect pet hair, dirt and smoke smells. Plus the cats won't leave them alone. Epifani scratch posts and cat towers, anyone?
I tried oil based exterior paint and it was a stinky mess, and it didn't look as good. Took forever to dry.

I can dig it. I had the same experience, and my gallon has now lasted for almost 2 years. I rolled inside and had no obnoxious vapors or mess. Its pretty hard, although I'll soon be doing a bit of touch up on my cabs...they've seen some action.
What I like about carpet is I have a six-box extension outlet with Velcro on the bottom.. I can stick it to the back of my cab and run whatever several cables to it, and one cord goes wending off to the house power outlet. Hides all my spaghetti.
What I don't like about carpet is my white cat who rubs against it and lays around on it, when I leave it uncovered...

They now have duratex in smaller quantities...check speakerhardware
Painting is easy too and you can do all kinds of wild finishes with it.
As far as needing a carpeted cab for what you are using it for...use Velcro only where needed.

I've just sot of made the best of what I've had, but there's the idea I guess. Just chiming in!
Had a friend who took his cab down to the local bedliner place and had it shot with that stuff. I really liked that!
Not as far as I can tell, but I would think that it would act like Dynamat or the like and lower the resonant freq of the cab.

Dynamat doesn't lower the resonant frequency of a cab. It's only useful in enclosures where proper bracing is not possible, such as car doors. As for the sound of a cab covered with DuraTex versus carpet, there will be no difference if the cabs are well constructed.
