Fearless cabs Whats the Hype??

I highly suggest trying one of these types of designs for yourself, and if possible in a band mix. As with ANY piece of gear, they're not all things to all people, and the hype may or may not hold true for you.

Word, to all the rest of your post too. I'd also add that there's a ton of latitude for fine tuning DIY fEARful builds if one is willing to do the homework.

i tried one for a week ( a dually ) i heard all the hype and had to try one , but it wasn't for me , sure you can pick up a 2x15 cab with one hand ( easy to transport )
but for me it was lacking in sound , notes lacks sustain and the cab itself didn't have any personality ( sound wise )
it sounded a bit better with an eden head than it did with a tube head , but it still wasn't for me .............don't rip my head off - this is just my personal opinion
A Dually with 3015s is my current favorite cabinet. But the Dually is TOTALLY TOTALLY TOTALLY different from either fEARful or Fearless cabinets. The Dually is a classic/traditional sound, somewhat mid-focused, not too much low end or high end. The fear* cabs are full range. More low end and high end than most other cabinets could dream of. My fEARful cabinets sound great for bass, keyboards, guitar, vocals, or a full musical mix. That doesn't mean everyone will like them, but Duallys don't sound anything like fEARful or Fearless cabs. At all.

Also, I understand that it was your perception, but to say the notes lacked sustain is weird, cabinets don't add or remove sustain.

In any case, I have a 15/6/1, 12/6/1 cube, and Dually if anybody in the Southern California area wants to try them out.

Now tell me this, would a quality full-range PA cab put you in the same vibe as these fEARless cabs?
I would say no. My bands PA has 15" JBL EONs, not the best, but not the worst. I used to run through it before my 12/6 was born.

Now, I'd rather carry the house than run through the PA. I have a deeper, fatter, clearer, well dispersed sound. The PA is honky. If we ran subs, different story, but if you're comparing a (sorry, not a fEARless) 12/6 to a full range, start with the difference of having a sub driver in a bass cab, which I would imagine most full range PA speakers don't have.

I love it when people say "try it." Sure, this thing that only exists on TB, that is hand built and very expensive is easy enough to find to try out. It's like saying "You should ride a Pegasuses, so much easier than driving. Try one out."
I'm down in PHX and make it up to gig in Prescott occasionally. If you are ever in the valley and want to try out a 12/6/1 I got you covered. You are more than welcome to come to one of my gigs or house to give it a go. You will find this response from many of "Green Kool-Aid" folks, we are so stoked about the cabs we like to spread the love.

I was doing some troubleshooting and testing with my Monique's tubes the other day and the DI on it, and since it was DI balanced I sent it to our PA (a pair of QSC k12's) and the sound was definitely not as inspiring as the fEARfuls even at similar volume.

I'll agree with the 'rather use amp instead of PA' up to a certain point. If I'm faced with a decent system that's got serious sub and front end speaker real-estate and wattage behind it, I'd rather be in FOH for a number of reasons. If I'm faced with a club setting where it's a couple powered sub boxes and some flown 12's or 15's, I'll take my rig over that any day.

In recent years I've been playing EA, Bergantino, and Tecamp and loved them all for different reasons. But then I saw Ed Friedland's Youtube review of the Greenboy F112. Bought one without trying one or even hearing one (except for Ed's review).

There's a simple reason I will stick with the Fearless F112 for the foreseeable future: it combines in one cabinet all the best qualities of the aforementioned three cabs. I'm thinking of getting either another F112 or an F115. Although I don't really need another one. Yet.

I maintain a map of all users internationally that want to be posted. Most of them will let you try their cab for a beer.

Depends. If your talking PA, you generally need a main, a sub, a cross over, and appropriate power sections.

I live fairly close to you....might have to bug you and drag over the Eden WT-550 and a few Spectors.

Are you attending BPL by any chance, btw?
