I just received an Invalid Link Removed and a Invalid Link Removed in for review. Man, they play and feel even better than I remembered! The P5 has a "vintage vibe with modern comfort" feel to the neck, and the Fretless Jazz just begs to be played. Seriously, it's probably the hardest bass to put down that I have picked up in a while, and I have picked up a lot of very nice instruments!

Read this whole thread and another on this subject matter. I was hoping that it would convince me to pick up a Pro Jazz (not that I need another one ) but I'm intrigued . But it hasn't convinced me considering the price point. I'll probably regret not pulling the trigger . Resale if not happy is already a huge loss considering one that was sold in the classifieds last month. I will wait in the shadows and keep reading this and other threads as more people have actual real time use and opinions as to whether their a winner or a meh upgrade . I am definitely curious on the MB pups , I'm a huge fan of the Lollars pups and hopefully we see some comparisons to those two . #fenderforlife

Awesome! I got the same thing from Sweetwater, only with a Rosewood fingerboard. Love Sweetwater - and my new Fender.

Hey guys, I am not very well versed on burst finishes, and how they look with different pickguards, but can anyone verify if the Am Prof would look the same with a tort (if it is the same tort) as the Am Std's that came with a tort, and therefore have images all over the place to view? I can't tell if the burst finishes are the same with different pickguards on. It definitely isn't my first choice color, however it is growing on me, and the fact that my alternate choice, white, stands out a bit more, which isn't really my style. Also, anyone have any images of a burst with a black tort guard? Red, solid black, and white are all easy to conjour up on google...

I noticed that in other areas also. Believe me if it's not in perfect condition it's going back. Sweetwater has a very good returns policy.

I didnt even realize that I wanted this bass until I saw these pictures...

So I gotta admit that I was writing these off but now I'm interested. I played a gig this weekend and the guitarist had the new AP Tele and it sounded great. He brought it over to my place for me to throw a different bridge pickup in it and the first thing that blew me away was the weight;holly crap was this thing was light! The neck felt amazing and other than a fair amount of clear coat on the frets (maple board, easy to fix) the fit and finish was pretty decent for a Fender. No more stupid jumbo frets!

Of course my local GC has the same, unplayable American Standard Jazz and Precisions they've had hanging there the last 5-7+ years so I doubt they will get any in. Hopefully Fender figured out how to reduce the dreaded ski jump in the fret board, reduce the dead spots and open A string buzz that the last generation of American Standards all seemed to feature.

What's up with Fender's AP Jazz demo? Was that tone pot stuck in the rolled off position or what? Can't believe they would even put that out....wait a minute...no I'm not.

Anyway, the Olympic White and Olive basses all look fantastic but "Grey is my favorite color, I felt so symbolic yesterday, If I knew Picasso, I would buy myself a grey guitar and play"..........
