Fender Precision Bass thread

They are great, but they just are not that flexible. Not a bad thing but if your into the "lead bass style" like me it can be frustrating. It's all I own and I love it In a classic setting, but for my solo projects I'm finding I need a bass that brings more to the table

Last night I set all of my basses in the dining room. Two Fender P basses and an Ibanez and a Cort P J basses. I brought out the dishes and silverware, Seahag (my wife) brought out the potatos and meat , and Jailbait (my daughter) brought out the veggies and dessert. Gatorbait (my bass playing son) is still away at school so he wasn't there. None of the basses brought anything to the table and none of the basses helped clean up afterwards. To be fair , the basses didn't eat anything or make a mess either.

I hate to derail a good fake P bass thread with a serious comment but those Hot Rod P basses are awesome. My bass teacher had one back in 2000. I tried to play it as much as possible. I had my 77 P bass at the time. The 77 was a good bass(because it was a P bass) but that Hot Rod was the cat's pajamas!
OK back to the fakeness.

Strong with the Farce are you. But you are not a Jedi satirist yet.....

Mine is good. I mean good. Okay? it's good. I like it. Because it's good. And so is my other one. It's good. I like it, too. Because it's good. And I also have a Japanese built one. It's good. It's not as good as the other one, but it's better than the other one. It's good.

No every bass has strong and weak points. The p is probably the best classic rock bass in my opinion. But play it and then play a richenbacker and tell me it cuts through the mix as well as the ric. It's not a bash on the p, i love my p. but I'm starting a bass guitar keyed project and it's not going to be my go to bass for that.:( :)
I'm afraid you have actually missed the point of this thread.
Fender P basses are good. Gooder, even. For everything.

I never said they were bad or you couldn't solo on them. I actually do it all the time. But it's not the perfect bass to do lead style on. Stop being an ignorant jerk. My god somone speaking there mind?! We simply can't had that! Immature, I love my p. But it isn't good for everything. No bass is.
