Fender Rumble Club

I have the rumble 15 v3 and it sounds like poopie... i rather like my other rumble 100 v1, with the red light to be supercool. Great power the 100w beast

Yeah, al, the 15 & 25 are not quite the tone monsters that the 40 thru 800 are. They are the oft-requested inexpensive mobile practice amps. The 40 thru 800 are the inexpensive mobile giggable amps! ;)

Count me a fan of the cool red lights on the V1 Rumbles! Please show us a pic of yours, preferably with lights ablaze, and you'll receive your membership in The Club.

The Rumble 15 doesn’t really have that much in common with the rest of the series. It’s made to be small and inexpensive, so it has a 8" driver, and a different preamp section. The cabinet is sealed, not ported. As a consequence it doesn’t sound like the others, but rather thin and boxy. The boxiness can be improved a great deal by stuffing the cabinet with synthetic wadding of the sort you find in cushions. I did it with mine - link to the post here: Fender Rumble Club

GREAT sound, GonePlaid !! You're using the R200 with a R112 cabinet? I bet you have more than enough headroom. Glad you're giggin'...........
It was actually overkill for that room. I've since played the same room with just a 100. Plenty. And like most of us, no gigs since 3/14. Many 86'ed.:(

Quite level headed, C2C. Shoot us a pic of your new Rumble when it arrives and join The Club. ;)

So my Rumble 500c eventually arrived on Monday. Couldn't be happier.

I'm really liking the contour button. I'm finding the treble button very subtle which is good. Here's a pic of it on my stand along with just two of my 8 geetars. By the way, the USA 2013 P-Bass sounds absolutely amazing through it. :bassist:

A month or so ago, I was in GC, and was checking out some basses, plugged into a R25, wow, it was a bit fuller sounding that I thought it would be.
My R40 is a bit overkill for the area I do my individual practicing, so...

...over thinking, my main problem, ha!

It does have me thinking of switching, although it is not that much smaller, just need a good full sound to play along with my stereo, so, hmmm o_O

I have a Rumble 25 for practicing at home. I can dial up a decent sound on it. It is loud enough for my man cave. Is it as loud or sound as good as the larger Rumbles (I have a Rumble 500 head and a 1x15 cab)? Nope.

But it does have an aux in (for backing tracks/music), a headphone jack, and a $100 price tag, and it works just fine for what I need.

Note: I have not played through the Rumble 40 so I can't give you a side by side comparison.

Brilliant G-Dog. Thank you for that. That made me laugh too. :roflmao:

I look forward to shooting the breeze with the fellow Rumblers. Happy Day. :hyper:

muley, you're in the perfect position to try out a R25, or even a R15, in your own home for a number of (return policy) days, side-by-side with your R40 to see if either, or both, of them will work for you. Why, if the stock sound doesn't do it for you, you could even do the JakobT mod to one and see if you like that sound better and, if not, just undo the mod and return it for the other to try!

Just be aware, my mood man, that the R25 actually weighs more than your R40, even though it is a little smaller box! For a practice spot that may not be any big deal. Otherwise, you might wanna try the R15 at GC first, then at home (without & with mod) to see how its tone sounds to you.

Posting this again for some feedback please... I am looking to eliminate the 60 cycle hum. Constant buzz/humming noise through amp using any of my basses. Any suggestions? My gear Fender Rumble 800 Head and Rumble 410 Cab. Looking at Ebtech Hum X and
Electro-Harmonix The Silencer Noise Gate

Those two components should not introduce any hum. Do you mean that it hums without anything plugged into it? Have you tried using a good power conditioner?

Something like this perhaps:
Furman M-8x2 Power Conditioner

After viewing YouTube videos its common with single coil pups. Wanted to see if anyone here uses either one of those products to reduce or eliminate the nasty hum (EMI)
I've never tried those, or any other hum-reducing products, sorry. But if you do try one of them, please let us know how it works out. I'd be interested to know, as the J pickup on my Ibanez Mikro is definitely a hummer.

Yes, it’s common with single coil pickups, unfortunately.

Hopefully someone will have some insight; like @GonePlaid I stick with humbucking pickups because they do what they say and they say what they do.

I just wanted to note the Rumble 40 v3 also as a Aux In mini-RCA input (MP3 players, etc.) and a headphone jack works quite well in my experience.

I have no experience with such things. My first instinct was to recommend shielding your bass(es)' pickup & control cavities, as they are, more often than not, lacking such. And, as I understand it, this is very effective against 60hz cycle hum. But, again, I've never had a big problem in that area.

But, to try to help, here's a TB search for "Ebtech Hum X" that also includesa few TB Classified sales of them:
And here's a TB search for "Electro-Harmonix The Silencer"
Hope this helps. :D
