I like to support local dealers and realize that their prices may be ‘slightly’ higher than internet sources. But, there is a difference between supporting a local dealer and getting taken by them. I know it’s a let the buyer beware world - but it’s also a let the seller beware world.I was a day late getting to the Amazon $200 special for the Fender Rumble 100. Also a day late for Fender's price of $227. I called my local dealer the next day and they refused to sell one for less that $329. I contacted Fender and complained. They honored their $227 with free shipping. The local dealer will never get any business from me!

Fender Rumble 200c from Amazon.
Well, I got the amp today.
The good:
It's for sure is what I ordered - Rumble 200C V3.
The bad:
It arrived damaged. The box showed up kinda rough. like it had been knocked around in shipping. Had all the original top cards, manual, cord etc....
It had been opened & re-taped at some point. Usually things like this are OK if the packaging was good. It was just the typical Fender box will foam corners & no extra support. Plenty of room for things to go wrong.
Issues:
The amp has the dreaded tweeter buzz on certain notes, as well as various cabinet rattles as you play up & down the neck. I tried in on a concrete floor which nothing near it to rattle just to make sure. Plus the cooling fan is SUPER loud. WAY Louder than my old Rumble 200C.
Of course it's going back. Already started a return. Not going to get a replacement from Amazon.
Oh well... Guess I'm back to square one to get a new Rumble. Maybe the universe is telling me to get the 500c!![]()
That is really unfortunate. Maybe it was a return in the first place?
For me, the biggest drawing card on an R200, was the 15"er. My love for these goes away back!
I had an R200 and R115 cab. It shook the house and sound great but, that was before I realized I was not going to play out again. If I was still gigging and with all the love for 2-10s, I would certainly go for the R500C and an R115 if the full 500w was needed.

Major bummer! Every amp box I've ever had delivered, not just7ender, has had another, more generic, box outside of it to take shipping wear and tear. And the amps have almost* always been just fine.
Ow!! I think you'll be very hard pressed to find such a good deal elsewhere, mixxy. It could be worth giving 'em one more chance. But, if that second chance also goes awry, I sure wouldn't blame ya for not giving it a third go. But, of course, ya gotta suit yourself.
I was just randomly scrolling through the club here and came across this. I love my R100 but I've been struggling to find a good "neutral" setting that works between my 2 parts-basses. They both have Bronco necks, Sentell pickups wired to almost the same resistance, one with a Mustang body and one with a Musicmaster. Hugely different tones and changing settings has been a very inexact science. This setting is a great place to start and has helped immensely. I really need to remember all the useful info here. Thanks!
Also during my scrolling I saw some folks posting photos of old/first amps they had. I don't have photos of my past amps and it took a while to find this photo online. This was the first bass amp I ever had. SG system/Gibson, 100watts. It weighed a ton and was as tall as me. 2-10's and 1-15 along with the knobs that were about 4 inches in diameter, all housed in a cabinet that was about an inch thick with heavy metal on all the edges and corners. Luckily it was on casters but lifting it in and out of the car or a set of stairs were disappointing affairs.

Jim Laabs got you too. My band in the mid-late 70’s ran a back line of those SG amps. I had the same amp you had (but used an ext speaker cabinet) and our two guitar players had the 6x10” guitar amps with the built in Maestro phase shifter.
Sure looks like two basses in that pic!View attachment 5277546
Retired about a year ago. Was driving and heard a song on the radio and thought “I’d like to play that bassline”. We had a Yamaha RBX350, that our son left here 20+ years ago, laying around. It had a broken string. I took it to a small store up the street. Got a set of strings, some minor adjustments and a pot resoldered. I asked whether he had any cheap used amps - so I didn’t have to play thru my 70’s stereo receiver (at a very low volume). He showed me the one new amp he had - this Fender Rumble-40. I played through it and my wife said “Go ahead and get it”. So now I have it. I take a weekly lesson - since I only really ever banged around (without knowing much) on the Yamaha for 5-10 minutes once a month or so. My current teacher was a bassist in a USAF band for 26 years. I had an Early 70’s Mustang bass (back in the early 70’s). Really only banged around on that too. Use the 40 as a practice amp - as I’m not near the point where I would need anything bigger.
I wouldn’t say it’s life changing.I forgot to mention the last day of this sale was a Sunday, after my local dealer closed! You are correct...we have to be "beware" but also "quick"!
The next time I hear of a R100 sale, I will jump on it. I would love to connect two together for 200 watts through 2 - 12"ers.
When shipping via LTL container (I know you know what that stands for) by sea, volume is what you pay for, not weightll (I paid per cubic foot and it wasn't cheap). And power converters take space and cost money. I went from an 1800 sq ft townhouse to my current 550 sq ft apartment (big by French standards!). I'm happy to dedicate floor space to my basses, but I've got no space for converters. My MIDI keyboard controller is under my desk as it is. I'd love to have it out next to my desk like I did in the States, but that's life. Not even close to enough of a reason to get me to move back State-side.I know you've mentioned b4 selling them 'cos they aren't dual voltage, but aren't adapters/converters available? Or was shipping them not worth it-compared to buying new [stuff]?
Coolio! I assume that your Rumble is a bit lighter than the Bag End 15".This amp kicked Butt last night at our gig. I kept the EQ flat, the gain at 12 and the Master at 11. The combination of the 1 15 cab, the 2 10's and the horn in the Rumble gave me full sound. Slapping was a joy.
Plenty of head room. No issues what so ever. And we did 2 long 80 minute sets that cranked. And lifting it up at the end of the night to put it into my car was a dream. Nice and light. Can't praise this enough. View attachment 5278620 View attachment 5278621
