Fender Rumble Club

If I want to run my hx stomp as the “[pre]amp” and just use the Rumble 500 for powered [amp and] speakers effectively.
Do I just plug straight into the return of the effects loop?

Uh, ... fixed it for ya.

Yes, L0st, that should work just fine. Do you already have the Rumble 500, or still shopping? I'm only asking for Club membership verification. ;)

... ... ..., anything boutique-y is outta the question. I truly don't give a ratz@$$ how good a $2K amp sounds into $1500+ cab. Unless "The Prize Patrol" shows up, I ain't buyin' none o' that [stuff]. ... ...
Between my 3xRumbles and the Kasino, I gots all the oomph I'll ever need. And they're all paid for.:)

True story from three days ago (Sunday afternoon, no less)
Phone: <ring>
Me: Hello?
Them: <bloop> Hello?
Me: Hello!
Them: Hello? Can you hear me? <pause>
Me: I hear you. :rollno: [I SO love the repetitive greetings, ... NOT]
Them: This is Kevin from The Publisher's Clearing House calling to followup on the three letters we sent you. <pause>
Me: I didn't receive any letters. :bored: [OK, I'll bite]
Them: You didn't? Well, just let me verify ... ...
Me: DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER AGAIN!!! <click>
Did I act too hastily? Did I throw away millions of dollars? I don't think so.

A 250w modeling combo would be an interesting option to pursue for sure!

I have the R100 now, love it, but a little more might be nice. Wouldn't need anything bigger than that for our little 3 pc.
At some point, I might invest in a second R100 to daisy chain with my existing one. As said B4, I've played through 2xR100's and the sound was rich, full, wonderful. But I don't even need that ATM.
Now, if I suddenly got an offer to go on the road with some 'big name' band-with roadies-I might look at some of the top-o'-the-line Bassman gear, but since 'big name' bands have the same difficulty finding me as "The Prize Patrol" does...

I figure for the investment of a few minutes pasting stickers and such on the "order form", and 1 lousy stamp, I gots nuttin' to lose.

Oh. I don't answer unrecognized #'s. They can leave a message and I'll call back.
:roflmao:

The prize patrol navigation system can't seem to find my address either.

I like the idea of the modeling amp, but the Studio 40 seems too small and would need to have daisy chained to my 100. And the Stage 800, nope, too much.

Of course I'm ignoring the whole "do I need it?" question. :D

I'm surprised you haven't sold/traded-in your R200 on a second R100 by now!

According to quite a few of my wife's multiplicity of emails purporting to be from Amazon, UPS and even FedEx, she keeps getting "Delivery Delayed" notices (even when she hasn't ordered anything!) because they can't seem to find her shipping address. But some "noreply"/no-name email address keeps offering to verify her address if she'll just click their button ... ... But I finally got her trained against that. Funny, they sure can find her email address and her actual packages have never had any problems actually being delivered on time. o_O

Don't underestimate the very real power of the little Rumble Studio 40 that could! I know 40w doesn't seem like much, but that li'l box puts out a whole lot of sound! I've played mine with several other instruments, even up to two dozen Americana stringed things, on several occasions with no probs driving the mix, even without fully cranking it!

And having an R100 to reinforce it, just in case, is ideal. I'll never need my R500c for reinforcement, but I live in hope.

I've considered seeing what I could get for the 200c from GC(I'm not about to put up with people coming to the house or paying what would be outrageous shipping)and I know where I can get a good condition 100 for a fair price, but TBH, I'm too lazy to schlep the thing to GC to see what they'd lo-ball offer me. And I'd hafta change the knobs back to the originals-which I still have[pro-level packrat].

Had it for like a year now. So I guess no avoiding it. Thanks for the nomenclature, I never know how to word that stuff.

Welcome to the low end, Dawg! Do you play other instruments, or is bass your first? Any prior musical experience?

Thanks!

I dabbled with guitar for a few years, but never got proficient at it. I took years of piano lessons as a child, but can't play anything now, but some of the "theory" part that has stuck.
Bass is "making sense" to me and the fretboard seems easy. I just have to get down the other portions. A friend that plays bass in my church worship team is guiding me on this journey. Thankful to have him.

Nice bass, and of course, nice amp! Those Squiers with the color-matched headstocks look awesome... someone at Fender needs to make that happen more often.

That's a great set up to start with.

Your background in piano should help you quite a bit.

While I'm not a teacher of anything musical, a book that looks like it might be of help is The Complete Electric Bass Player by Chuck Rainey, Book 1: The Method. It does a good job explaining the bass on keys, so you could probably apply this in reverse.

I'm using this book to learn along with Bass Buzz's Beginner to Badass online course. These are two different styles and approaches to learning bass, but parallel each other quite well.

(My background is I've been around musicians and helped technically with them in studio and on stage for years. I also spent most of my life working on electronic and mechanical things of many types. I tried unsuccessfully to learn guitar for nine plus years. About three years ago, I decided to give bass a serious try and it stuck. I've been doing far better on bass than I ever did on guitar.)
