"Fenderbird"

here is a pic of my 'fenderbird' as used by the man himself :)

its not a true fenderbird, but rob green (status-graphite) made it for johns birthday a few years before he died.

uh...I thought a FenderBird had a Tbird body, and a Fender neck??? ;)

it is unique and nice looking, but hardly qualifies for FB status...

actually it has a thunderbird back end with a P bass front end and a P shaped neck, for all its a unique bass it is a buzzard, and since john created the fenderbird, in extension of that created the buzzard then this is the only truly offical 'fenderbird' :D here is a better pic

oh yes, that is a beautiful unique styling of "something" in between for sure!!!

I love it to death, but traditionally, I'm use to seeing regular bodies, with fender style necks...IMHO yours FAR surpasses any "normal" FB, due to the uniqueness.

to be honest it plays just like a TB, and balances nice (could be the graphite neck tho) and status electronics are amazing, its a shame warwick won the court battle over the 'buzzard' branding (in fairness the shape was conceived by both H.P.W and John equally but id love a graphite buzzard 1 rather than a nasty warwick wood one)

id love to make a nice 5 string version like Ric5's (one of if not THE best FB i have seen) but in green/turquoise with a tele headstock but funds prohibit :(

I heard all of that, well gas+funds=custom whatever, so unless all 3 of those line up just right...no more Buzzards...lol ( or anything else )

perhaps I can throw a Fender peel off vinyl sticker on this one and call it a JacksonFenderBird? ---it does have a graphite nut, and Fender does currently own part of Jackson---:D:D

thats a cool jackson, and if it has a P profile rather than a Jazz or any other then yeah its a FB :). although i have to admit i personally would say that if it aint an all maple it aint a FB.

i just threw my B2 in there as its still (bar the maple neck ;p) got the qualities of a FB (swept back body, cool weird shape and a P neck profile) and if you dismiss the B2 as it has no fender neck then Ric5's aint either (unless its a pre 08 p deluxe neck) and all of the warmoth builds also.

but yeah MORE FB love plz :)
