I have 2 first act electrics that are both exactly the same , one is more beat up. Members of my band just left them here forever ago , I use them to do guitar spins with haha.

i think its all in the player, seen alolt of guys playing out with a stingray that should have been embarrased to be up there only to be followed by a guy with a squire that wailed. if you like it play it! i think for my my next bass i,m gonne go buy the ugliest cheapest thing in the pawnshop do some mods and see what happens!

For what it's worth, this is what they said on the website....

Well, when you chip the paint from rocking out on it, you'll see, it's solid, but it's solid plywood. Trust me, every one of these I've seen is plywood, as was my First Act ME-302 guitar. They said "Solid Basswood"....and alas it was plywood.

I miss that guitar though...

where did you get this?

Craigslist. This girl had it just sitting around in her bedroom gathering dust and not being played. She just wanted it gone. First it was $50 then a week later, it was listed at $40. Sometimes you just get lucky on deals like that.

My first bass was a first act. It wasn't that bad of a bass actually. it was pretty good sounding aside from the buzzing, but shielding/grounding fixed that.

I've never played a FA bass. BUT if it plays/sounds HALF as nice as my FA guitars:

I would play it and just laugh at all the headstock snobs, and tell them, "If you don't know, you better ask somebody"! And I wouldn't be surprised if it was solid basswood.
