It depends on your playing style. I used to play seated with no strap a fair amount, then spent much of the last couple years playing standing, and now split between the two. The problem with no strap is that if you work the bass a fair amount it can get away from you. I've been wheedling away and had it almost crash to the floor.
With recessed straplocks, seems like there is no reason not to have them. At least then you have the option.
One can always have them put on later , no?
any builder can do that I'd guess.
So why not see how it works without and decide later on if to add them.
