Fodera Club Part VI

They overnighted the bass so it would arrive here this morning (Tuesday). For whatever reason, it never left Memphis. I went to the local distribution center, and they said it was lost- nobody in Memphis could find it. They called me later and told me they'd found it, but that they had no idea why it had not left. They were going to get it on am alternative flight to get it here by tonight. They called me at about 5:30 to inform me that it was lost again and nobody could account for its arrival. They will update me in the morning.

Sigh.

Wow... That's ridiculous. Could not imagine going through that with your dream instrument. Just absolutely unacceptable.

yeah it is getting pretty close to that huh? wish I was a zillionaire becasue one of the businesses I would start would be a shipping company whose mission statement would be predicated on absolute reliability. I mean, if Disney started a shipping company do you think it would be so shoddy?

Bernie...pics of my Beez ...as you requested...

jeez...almost embarrasing after looking at Climb's bass today....BUT I LIKE IT and it plays as you might expect...sans the adjectives.

this question is for Jason...

kind of off topic, but it IS the Fodera Club

I went to Berklee with a kid , Mitch Cohn, phenomenal talent who seems to have disappeared. He played Foderas, and if i recall was on your site as part of the Fodera "family". Any idea where he is at?? I would have thought we'd be hearing more from him by now.

If you've been reading this thread lately, it does tend to get off topic around here. Your question is pretty much on topic, fuhgidaboudit.

Mitch is a funny cat. He's is an extreme talent for sure. Last I know he was playing hip hop. Not sure what he's up to now.

That's him in that video (my buddy John Shannon on guitar...incredible musician)....look up the old waking vision vids to really hear Mitch though.

Yeha thats him, but a bit ago.

I hadnt found anything real current, though just after I posted I did a quick Google and found a site where he is touting Brace wireless systems...from the quick list of his recent work there, he's been with Kanye West and Lady Gaga to name a few.

At Berklee he had only been playing bass for 5 years or something, and he was already a standout, easily one of the best players there in my time. He would do crazy chordal stuff on the bass and accompany singers (alone). I never really heard his improvising chops much, so I cant altogether vouch for that, what I DID hear was very melodic. He was always a bit quiet, but seemed to be a decent kid.

I have friends that went to school the same time you did, and he lived in a house with them. Sounds like at one point he was hanging with Ben Monder....so yeah, the kid could play. He was the real deal.
