BTW, yes the 4-6 piece run WILL have ALL original specs...wooden butterfly, original preamp, original bridge, tuners, etc. It will be a TRUE New Old Stock instrument as we still have enough parts for at least 4 and possibly 6 instruments. Oh, and have I mentioned that the FB's are from 1980 too? We have 6 of them. It is the original preamps that we are not certain about...

Jason i am pretty sure i have 2 haz lab preamps in a box somewhere from my first 2 basses (one passive, one EMG's)that were changed out to hazlab 2 preamp with the circuitboard. Let me know if you want me to look for them.

Neat! A Fodera surprise! Can customer specify neck joint/neck through also?
I also owned an Emperor 5 years ago with 3 Duncan Dual Coils - other than that configured as usual: Mahogany body, Crotch Walnut Top, Ebony Board, Pope Pre. I never got a good sound out of it, regardless how much pickups were switched on. I missed to check the sound with only 2 pickups mounted. But - In the end what should I do with the hole in the body ? Put a plant into it ?
May be it depends on the amount or power of magnets per string or whatever, the sound was always lifeless...

No need to look for them, we would never feel comfortable using used parts in a new bass. What will make these unique is that they will be brand new parts that just happen to have been here in the shop since 1983!!

Put a ramp over it. Anyway, I read somewhere that with three or more pickups, the magnetic pull can affect the vibration of the strings negatively. I don't know if it's a wive's tale, but I'm not going to test the theory.

I believe Jason already indicated they do not have the necessary wood supplies to do a run of Bona standards.

Correct...getting premium Olive for the tops on a regular basis is a non-starter for a Standard Bona model...

You mean 5-string Imperial? B-G or E-C? Or 6-string Monarch? Or 4-string Monarch? Seems like the only consistent spec is the 33" scale. Which I think is cool but already represented in the MGS.
