Fodera Club Part XIX

Honestly, the day that any of us here no longer gets jazzed about what's coming out of the shop, it's time to do something else. We are blessed beyond belief that we love what we do as much as we do. I cannot wait to show up with the new bass tomorrow night at rehearsal!

BTW, I will be eating big time humble pie as one of the guitarists in this band owns a semi-hollow Telecaster that he bought because it sounds simply fantastic. It also happens to be pink something that I have ribbed him about it constantly. Paybacks are going to be a bitch!!

Do your bandmates think you are mental too?:help: Mine are pretty confused that I have only really played one bass for the last few months (my Fodera) but are used to me playing a different bass at every gig/jam.

What about the other Fodera employees?

Doesn't Joey basically play the same bolt on Fodera most of the time? I know Vinny is a guitarist and when I was there recently, Phil was totally pumped to be getting his first Fodera... but are there any other bass freaks there in Brooklyn?:bassist:

IIRC Joey has played he same 5 string emp for a pretty a long time. It appears that there is only one Jason!!!!


BTW i name my basses after the top woods but i only have 5 Foderas, soon 6, and they all have different top woods....walnut, versus Brazilian rosewood, spaulted sycamore, spaulted beechwood and the yy....and my wife knows them by those names over the last 26 years or so. except i had to sneak in the YYS as my bass collection is rather out of control at over 100.....

I had a chance to play it several times last week and I absolutely love its tone...so yes, I am actually contemplating buying one of our own basses from one of our Dealers! Remember I was a customer before I became Joey and Vinny's partner and I guess old habits die hard!

Hey Jason

I am in talks now with Dave at Ultimate Basses about purchasing the Bolivian Imperial Rosewood. Talks are going very well. I was told that the bass is still at your shop. I was wondering if you have played this bass and your impressions? Any details would be kindly appreciated. Also, would you know the weight? I don't believe it is chambered is it?

Looking for something very special and hoping this is it. Thank you in advance. John

I'm curious to see the spalted sycamore and the spalted beechwood. Can you post pics of those two? Thanks!

Jason you made a big mistake, you should have sold your Brazilian topped Monarch. Man that thing sure is ugly:D If you ever decide to sell it I will buy it. I will even give you visitation rights! Congrats on your new Monarch, and thank you for doing what you do! Your presence here means the world to all of us.

BTW : since my taste of sound went far away from a neckthrough on the fretted Bass my project "fretless" is done - (also the PUP covers had been sprayed and do look great now too) - the Bass sings and sings and sounds really really good - so I think this was the best I could do. If I would go back to the fretted version one day the bass will get Vintage frets ;)
