1. They KNOW I am mental.

2. Joey has been playing the same bass for many years. That said, we are in the process of building him a new one!

3. We have several other bass nuts here...Phil, Vadym, Dan, Andres. Not sure what Aaron plays...

Hey there John. Yes, I had the pleasure of playing her before we packed it up. It's a great bass. No qualifications. That said, she's already packed and ready to ship to Dave, so I cannot weigh the bass. Given the ingredients it is definitely over 10 pounds. But I do not remember it being an overly heavy instrument at all. I hope that helps.

I posted on there, but the consequence of buying this and posting here is threefold:
1) No lawsuits will ever come of this, so it will not aid in solving any problem. That's fine, except...
2) Buying it actually supports them, showing there is a market for these hideous knockoffs, meaning more will continue to be produced.
3) Read the posts! There are people that posted interested in buying them now that they've seen this one and the review given the price. That actually makes the counterfeit situation worse, by accident.

So in the long run, Fodera might actually prefer if that thread was √-1 (imaginary!). :)

Agreed on all 3 counts. Once inspected by Jason, Joey & Vinnie it should be confined to the dumpster but not before filming it's death by all the guy's from the shop and filmed for up-load to Youtube for prosterity. Why? Because, You can't fake the funk!..

If you're on a budget there are many brands out there offering something with some semblance of quality and legitimacy. Purchasing this kind of counterfeit crap sends more US dollars to China, plain and simple. No way in hell this knock off is even a smidgen of what a true Fodera is. This kind of stuff makes me sick to my stomach an d more so cheapskates that enable this stuff to go on trying to get something for nothing.

I'll stick with my cheap & cheerful Squire anyday, at least the electronics (albeit passive) work..;)

Fodera isn't going to lose a single sale IMO to these douchebags. I also don't think it will tarnish their brand at all. They are very lucky. It is still completely wrong though

Rondo, Jay Turser, Fender (Squier), Gibson (Epi), Dean, the guy selling $199 basses at the fleamarket in your neighbourhood.... These are the businesses (big and small) that are losing revenues and will lay off American workers. Products they sell may be predominantly made offshore, but office and disty staff are in North America.

I'm not really sure if the alibaba basses are really going to be affecting any American workers or American revenues. If anything, companies like Rondo are doing the exact same thing, except it is one American importing the instruments from other countries. There really is not a lot of American enterprise in any of those instruments, beyond distribution.
