Finally decided to go with this gorgeous quilted maple for my Emperor Elite II. I'm going for that classy blonde looks.

Body specs is exactly the same as Artie's Reynolds Signature series. Great player!!
Very excited! should be in production this coming september.

I was wondering on the Emperor 35" vs 34" is just the neck longer or is the shift in both the body and the neck
Meaning the bridge getting pushed closer the the edge of the body? I really like where my E5S sits as the left hand is extremely
comfortable.

I don't know the answer to your question, but look at this picture. The koa Viceroy is 34-inch, and the maple Emperor is 35-inch. I don't know if the same difference would apply for a 34-inch Emperor.

From looking at many Fodera pictures (pron), it seems like longer scale length within a particular body style moves the bridge back a bit and likely lengthens the neck a bit.

Munji, from the pictures it looks like what I envisioned. Shouldn't be a lot of difference. Between my Lakland and the E5S
Fodera, 35" vs 34" really no difference in going between the two. Going for the 35" on this next one. Oh, BTW, that Koa top
is incredible. Hopefully my Smith sells soon to help fund the next one. Hopefully it will cure the GAS for a while.

You have to admit, it is pretty subtle, though. Of course, lots of little variations can certainly add up to a notably different feel.

That one was at a shop about a half an hour from me, took the trek and tried it out. It was amazing!!! I'm not really a fretless player but man did that one sing!

never really looked at the side by side but from the pictures i think i would like the viceroy a little better than my 2 emporers as I am not a huge fan of the offset. food for thought!!!

Had a nice chat with Jason. I definitely want the 35" scale. Just gonna work out the tone
wood to get the sound I'm looking for. Low end extension but with tight articulation, a little bit of AJ and Jimmy Johnson. Both of them were low B pioneers, and although they play different instruments, it kind of made a lasting impression on what notes below E sound like.

Jason is every bit of what he portrays on this thread--extremely helpful and responsive.

+1 (I have 1 Emperor).

I actually went with a Monarch instead. Easy decision when I realized I didn't want to pay more for a Elite.... So the singlecut options went out the window.

got 3 monarchs and M4S57 on the way so its actually my fav body already... and the m4s gives me the Dual coil sound i was missing..

There is no one big thing that makes a Fodera a Fodera...just hundreds of little ones. Same thing with scale length. Yes, the differences are subtle, but they are very much there (in multiple places and dimensions) and they provide and overall sense of "correctness" to the instruments in each scale length. Believe me, it would be HUGELY easier to only change one or two variables, but that's just not our way...

Based on feel I would say 34", the reach felt similar to my Monarch which is a 34. Plus to me the bridge on this one looked a good bit further up on the body than most, so based on the 10 mins I spent on the bass I would say 34" possibly 35" no way I could Imagine it was 36"

Jason also called me tonight to follow up on an email I sent him about buying a used Fodera for a friend. 15-20 minute chat about basses that Jason and Fodera will almost certainy realize $0 revenue from.

No other guitar company that I have ever dealt with would do this so willingly.

Fodera has no choice but to price their basses at the upper end of the spectrum.... Wouldn't you if you had to deal with high maintenance customers like us?
