Jason also called me tonight to follow up on an email I sent him about buying a used Fodera for a friend. 15-20 minute chat about basses that Jason and Fodera will almost certainy realize $0 revenue from.

No other guitar company that I have ever dealt with would do this so willingly.

Fodera has no choice but to price their basses at the upper end of the spectrum.... Wouldn't you if you had to deal with high maintenance customers like us?

I surprised myself and actually locked in my Monarch config EARLY without any changes!

In any case, I am super excited!

here is what I have coming later this year:

Monarch 5 Deluxe (dovetail neck)
Lightweight Mahogany body
Walnut top
Ebony fretboard (no inlays)
Duncan dual coils
34" scale
Black hardware
3+2 headstock (just to be different)

COOL bass, sir! I must be ill, but having now just gotten the second Fodera...the gas is building for my third, specs already built, with a preliminary order sheet. Baird, your order isn't helping me any...

Well I finally sent in a request for a custom build. Finally got to speak with Jason yesterday. These are the specs SOS far:

Emperor 5 string bolt on
Flamed maple top and headstock
35" scale
Duncan dual coils/Pope preamp
Alder body wood
Gold hardware
Standard 2 + 3 arrangement

This one similar in looks to match my E5S but getting a low B with more extension in the
AJ/Jimmy Johnson vain. Hopefully I will get it finalized next week then bite my nails in anticipation

Looks like it came from the same batch as the top on the fretless I have in the pipeline

There is no one big thing that makes a Fodera a Fodera...just hundreds of little ones. Same thing with scale length. Yes, the differences are subtle, but they are very much there (in multiple places and dimensions) and they provide and overall sense of "correctness" to the instruments in each scale length. Believe me, it would be HUGELY easier to only change one or two variables, but that's just not our way...

I might disagree... there is one constant for 30 years, actually 2 and the third who seems was there in spirit, just not on the team till about 25 years later. You guys have made a Fodera a Fodera. that passion hasn't changed
